STICKY:
Removal and rebuild of the 8.875" 12 bolt.
(

(Preview)
It can be smooth when the bolts turn like new. Even the lines came undone. No rust. Drivers side needed the Vice Grip, but only just (because I wasn't willing to wait for the PB Blaster to work). But I'm sort of worried about the flex line to main chassis line. Cracked it open and pulled the axles. They hav...

STICKY:
67 and older 4 speed shifter restoration
(Preview)
I've decided to make an attempt at "tightening up" an original shifter for my 66. This is the same shifter body that was used in Canadian Pontiacs, Beaumonts, Acadians, numerous Chevrolets and I think maybe some Buicks prior to 1967. I have it all disassembled and need to order some parts for it. Fo...

(Preview)
I've thought it might of of interest to document my TH400 build, hopefully sparking some discussion around of what is best. Like my rear end build, the transmission was originally one of those things "Black art" and best thought as being left to the pro's. I have had very good success with my 12 bolt bui...

So those of you who know me know my passion and know my dislike for that big wide brake pedal that takes up the whole space where there's actually room for two smaller pedals. I'm not done putting the rear window back in my car but I'm on hold until I get some pinchweld primer for that job. Rather than sit on t...

Is it possible to buy just a carb needle and seat? At least local.
(Preview)
Looks like ethanol has struck and my Rochester 2GV carb on the 69 is suddenly flooding internally. I'm taking a good early guess and thinking the needle neoprene has been ate. Wondering if there is anywhere that has just the needle and seat? Or.. Someone that has just a spare needle? I know there are c...

Muffler hanger rivets

While we were away on vacation I visited a guy I had previously met when we went to Las Vegas. Those of you who are into Acadians and Novas may know the name John Piccola. He did a lot of reproduction parts over the years for 62-67 Acadian and Nova. One of the many things he had reproduced is the rivets for ori...

Turbo 400 Torque Converter Bolts Fell Out
(Preview)
The way this sounded it may have been a lot worse gone wrong. That bolt screeched and clanged until it made its way out, probably, by the gap between the starter and the cover. This would be the second one that has fallen out. Who knows when the first one went. Unfortunately, now the converter has now shif...

Does anyone know? My best guess for more power to the back tires is to use the pulleys from a 67 Camaro 302? Anyone here played the pulley game? Is there a site that gives specs for all the different pulleys used over the years?

Hey quick question, Difference between big block and small block power steering pump
(Preview)
Looks like when my repaired arm let the AC pump fall, it damaged the power steering pump reservoir. I have the other 427 pump and my spare 350 pump. To buy a replacement they list small block and big blocks separate. Other than the brackets, I can't tell the difference. What is the difference? Thanks in a...

(Preview)
I'm going to replace these plugs but I am not going to throw these plugs away. I showed the old plugs to an engine builder today he was amazed by the quality of the construction of the old plug. They weigh a lot more than the NKGs They are gapped a tight .35 What do you think ?

Oil in exhaust manifold bolt holes 427

First of all, why did I buy a big block ? 350s are so easy to work on with all that space under the hood. I am trying to eliminate the exhaust manifold leak on the front right of this 427. My engine/tranny/carb guy gave me a really nice set of exhaust gaskets to install. 1, Is it true that the bolts go into the oi...
