I sold a 66 Grande Parisenne factory 4 speed car to someone in Edmonton about 19 years ago. The car had a 427 then. It was originally a 396 4 speed. It's dark blue, white interior, power windows, AM/FM, tach, power antenna, and lots more. I am trying to locate the car. It may now be in the Ottawa area, but I can't prove that. Please let me know if you have seen this car anywhere in the last 19 years. It doesn't matter how long ago, or if you are unsure that it's even my car that you saw.
Thanks

That's TOO FUNNY! (Well,NOT really) I was seriously looking at buying that car (must be the same one) It was for sale in Edmonton in the late 80's? & as I recall, they were asking around $7500.00? I believe it was in the Old Car Trader (Canadian) Also heard that is had been sold to somebody back east.
I had it in the old car trader in the fall of 88. I sold it in Jan of 89 to the man from Edmonton, for the whopping sum of $5300......
He still had it in the fall when I was in Edmonton. I called him and went to look at it. He was not really a car guy, amazingly enough. I think he told me then that he and a buddy had been in the bar one night, and one of them had discussed seeing this big Pontiac in the Old Car Trader and thought it was cool. He ended up calling me and we made a deal. He came down on the train (I think it was an almost free ride for him, a CNR worker) and drove it home. As I recall, the day he left it was about -25 or -30, and that car had no block heater. I told him he better leave it running, or just keep driving!
That car has factory electronic ignition, too. I have never seen another Canadian car with that. I am sure they are out there, but I don't know of one.
The car had close to 200,000 miles, and had minor rust repair, but overall was still VERY solid, still all original panels on it.
Ok, enough, I think I am going to start crying if I keep going.

I'll have to dig through my photos to see if I took a photo, but the car sounds like the one still around here. I've walked past it a few times, but the 427 emblems were wrong for it, so I thought it was a made up car. Cruising doesn't start till about mid May, so it may be a while before I can get any info. I'll ask a couple of guys I know.
Ever seen a 50 year old man cry over a car?????!!!!! I think I'm getting ready. I would sure appreciate any pictures, just to see. The odds of it being my car are pretty good, I would say.

Every photo I've taken in the last few years is on a CD somewhere. I'll go through them and it may be in the background somewhere. I think I've only seen it on Thursday nights at the Petro-Can A&W on Fort Road in North Edmonton. I can ask my friend who's still crying over his 67 427 Biscayne that he sold. He may know it.
I looked at a 427 4 spd GP in Ottawa back in '99. Owner told me it came from out west.It was dark with a white interior. As I remember it had a lot of options too. I'll have to learn to post pics this weekend.
If you have the pics, please do! Can you email them to me? I can post them here.
If any of you haven't noticed, I have a hankering to see this car again!
Option list would be tilt, tach, am/fm, reverb, power antenna, power trunk, power seat, reclining passenger seat, posi, factory electronic ignition, all tinted glass, power windows, power vent windows, and I think that is about it!
I sent you a private message with my email address.

Oh, I almost forgot. The one distinguishing feature about it is easy to spot, if it hasn't been changed. It has a tilt telescopic steering column from a 66 Caprice. The steering wheel is very flat on this column, basically no dish to it at all. The center cap is wrong as well, as the cap is unique to this steering column, and no Pontiac cap comes even close to fitting it.
Just thought of something else when I was looking at pics in my scrapbook. If the grille emblem has not been changed, I took out the Canadian emblem ("Pontiac") and put in the Grand Prix emblem from a US car ("GP").
Here's a couple of images. Sorry, they are a digital picture of a snapshot, best I can do.

Carl, if you have the VIN somewhere I could go to the MTO for you and get the used car package. It will list the name of the current owner and what town he lives in. It's $20 for the package.. Todd
