disc brakes.....

I have a 72 lemans, and want to put disc brakes on the front.  I know I can get the complete spindle assembly off any 68-72 A body car, but I was wondering if there are any other cars that will fit as well????

Thanks.......John

68-74 Nova, Omega, Ventura, Apollo

f -body uses the same spindle, you use the a-body steering arms.

good luck....

Couldn't we add 70 -72 Grand Prix and 68-72 El Camino too?

Thanks guys, I wasn't aware the camaro/firebird would fit!!!!! Time to start the hunt for a brake assembly....... If anyone has a line on a set, let me know. I only need the spindle, disc, caliper assembly. I have a different prop valve, and vaccum booster.

Thanks again....John

Lots of interchange with the F body Firebirds and A body LeMans, even things you wouldn't expect like clocks, gauges and speedo's.

1969 Grand Prix has the same spindles too. This was the only area where the
auto magazine testers said the gp was poor . Not enough brakes for the weight of the car.

You can also buy various kits,  some use the stock drum brake spindle? with some modification,,,and ad a caliper bracket.

used set ups are in the $300 to $400 range on the praries....  I may have an extra set,, I will know in a week or so.

don't over look the Vista Cruiser wagon,,it's a Cutlass basically .  that's where my last set came from.

later...rog

Thanks guys,

I was just speaking with a guy who knows of a car sitting near a bush, thinks it's a sport version. I want to see if there are any disc brakes on it. If I get to see it I will get a tag pic.

Thanks again..........John
