Away for the winter, some parting thoughts...

After a short month with the Gp, today she went up to the farm to hibernate for 5 or so months. I just have to say, I've never had a car that got as much positive attention as this one. Young and old, male or female, people give it the thumbs up, or just walk over and strike up a conversation. Nice people. Heads strain to see it, guys run out of garages, it's hilarious to watch, and it becomes a sport. I think people remember these, and back then, I don't think they got much respect. Transportation more or less. But today... well, you just never see them but the memories are there.

Can't wait till the next summer, it's really a summer kind of car, looking best with the windows down. I'd love to take it down east, it's more than comfortable enough, and it gets pretty good fuel economy to boot. I'll be stocking up on parts over the winter to go through the suspension in the spring.

It's one thing to be elbows deep in a resto, but it really makes you feel part of the hobby having something to drive.

Mark

You guys have probably seen enough, but here's a few shots from today...

I have never appreciated a 4 door hardtop like I appreciate them now after seeing your car on here. They used to be parts cars to me.

Hey, if you are ever this far east,  you can stay here, and we'll cruise.....then when I repeatedly hear  "wow....you dont see these anymore"....I can say, yea, theres another one right there!  I expect to be in St Catharines in late May to and ready to roll.  I'll let you know when I go through Burlington, we can meet at Tims or something. I'd love to look at a few things on your beautiful machine.  Hope for an early spring. The kids will miss their dad being so eager to drive them places when I have to use a minivan or neon.  I am anxious to see mine with a hardtop and fresh paint and bigger wheels....seeing yours gives me a preview...now I may even get the fender skirts painted too, just in case.

I just returned from a trip to the Southeastern U.S. and the yard I visited had what I think was a 69 GP two door complete car.  I noticed all the emblems and mouldings had been removed but all the sheet metal was good.
I know a local guy that had a 67 GP convertible and I never really realized how rare that car was.
I two have a new appreciation for the 4 door hardtop, it has all the styling of the two door, you have to drive with all the windows down and the room and convience of the 4 door.
Great looking car!!

I love the original wheel coverS and the Rallies!!!!    I am going out to Andersons next week, and have a better look at the 67 Grand Parisienne in YOUR avatar   I think if the floors are gone, I should buy it for the front end alone!   Its only a 2 door though  lol

It's a nice day here in SW Ont. I'm going to take the Laurentian out for a drive this afternoon. Looks like we'll have a nice week too!

Those GPs look awesome. One of the nicest looking cars made in the 60s. I was never able to find one close to home, but I'd love to have a BB some day.

Love that 4 door. I think after i install the snow blower on the tractor today, I'm gonna go for a rip in the Zapper. Still can't believe nobody in the area wants a clean 2nd gen.

Here is a pic of my brothers 2 67 ponchos. The one on the left is a Canadian 67 gp 327 he sold 3 years ago. The guy who bought it did a total restore of the car . The one on the right is the one he still has American GP loaded 428 70000 original miles never been painted a true survivor

Both of them are beautiful cars - really like the color, and any 428 Pontiac is worth owning, especially a mint car like the this GP.

Sweet 67's. Love the Granada gold. It's always been one of my favorites.
I can imagine the Gp with the 428 would really step up when kicked!

Here's a webgrab from a few years ago. I imagine it's some sort of modern Burnt Tangerine or copper somthing, but I think it totaly suits the car. Or was that colour actually offered on the USA Grand Prix?
The big Torque Thrusts look great as well. I'd love a set of 17x7's on mine.

(SHARP)     Yes it was made here (N/A)   A parting thought on GM    My grandaughter was home from Sarnia.   She was having a problem with her/my 2000 S10cry  She could not set the clock and it was low on gas....wink                         I took it uptown and filled it up..

Reg cab 2.5, auto, LS,  tilt, cruise, air, CD    I paid $2500.00 for it 3 years ago.. Bought off Copart (from PA.) needed a rad support and grille and hood..  It has215,000 MILES on it   It has had 1 set of brakes, no front suspension work(its tight)  gets 30 mpg @100kmh   Has never had a trans flush, fuel line flush, brake line flush, rear end flush.. original exhaust, and I had to replace O.E. plugs and wires on it ...  360,000KM   Dam GM'S

I saw that 428 car on Saturday when I met 66 Grande guy there.

To say that car is stunning is almost insulting it. It is an incredibly gorgeous, clean car. The interior, the trim, the paint, everything. It's amazing!!! I could hardly stop looking at it. I just wanted to steal it and bring it home with me!
