That looks like an Iraqi Taxi with full wheel covers. I bet it is with that 229 3 speed stick combo. They were decent cars, could drive it around in second all day, crazy gearing for Iraq. Friend had one in same colour, almost bullet proof.

Ditto, the IT model (Iraqi Taxi!!) for sure.

Nice cars, well made, easy to fix, fun to drive. I think that looks like a great deal. Rust free cars like that are hard to find. Resale value is a bit poor because very few want a manual trans but if that's what you want, I'd say good deal.

The exact car I used for the front clip in my Acadian, bought it for $75. The rear frame rails are suspect in these G body cars.

That would be awesome, I really got a thing for the IT malibu, been looking for a decent one for sometime.  Would be nice if this was a good one, my main concern is the frame.  Thanks in advance for willing to do this for me!
Cheers Wayne

Iraqi Taxi
In 1981, General Motors of Canada in Oshawa produced a special order of 25,500 4-door Malibu sedans for Saddam Hussein's Iraqi government The deal was reportedly worth well over 100-million dollars to GMCL. These special order Malibus carried the unusual combination of GM's lowest-power carburated V6, the 110 hp (82 kW) 229-cubic-inch (3.8 L) engine mated to 3-speed transmission with a unique on-the-floor stick shifter. All of the cars were equipped with air conditioning, heavy duty cooling systems, AM/FM cassette decks, front bench seats, 200 km/h speedometers, tough tweed and vinyl upholstery and 14-inch (360 mm) stamped steel wheels with "baby moon" hubcaps.

However only 13,000 units ever made it to Iraq, with the majority of the cars becoming taxis in Baghdad (once the cab-identifying orange paint was added to the front & rear fenders). However in 1982 with the balance of ~12,500 additional Malibus either sitting on a dock in Halifax or awaiting port shipment in Oshawa, where they were built, the Iraqis suddenly cancelled the order.[3] Excuses reportedly included various "quality concerns" including the inability of the local drivers to shift the finicky Saginaw manual transmission. This issue was eventually identified as being due to an apparent clutch release issue that eventually required on-site retrofitting by a crew of Canadian technicians sent to Iraq to support the infamous "Recall in the Desert". Later speculation was that the Iraqis were actually forced to back out for financial reasons, due to their escalating hostilities with Iran requiring the immediate diversion of funds to support the ramping Iraqi war effort. Then GM of Canada President Donald Hackworth was initially quoted as stating GMCL intended still try to sell the Malibus overseas in other Middle East markets; however in the end, the orphaned "Iraqi Taxi" Malibus were all sold to the Canadian public at the greatly reduced price of approx. $6,800 CAD and over the years have acquired a low-key 'celebrity' status.

I know what you are saying but if you advertised it and never mentioned it's a manual, I would bet 9 out of 10 who come to look at it would say no as soon as they see it's not an automatic.

However, guys like me are on the lookout for those all the time. I have dreams of a G body stick car some day. So does my son..........

STICK SHIFT MALIBUS ARE VERY RARE IN 2DR. I'M SURE IF I ADVERTISED MY PHONE WOULD RING OFF THE HOOK. WHEN I SOLD MY '78 MONTE CARLO 4SPD, I HAD 47 CALLS ON IT THE FIRST NIGHT! IT SOLD TO THE FIRST GUY WHO LOOKED. 4DR'S MAY BE A DIFFRENT STORY THOUGH.
