Bill, good luck with your search. What are you taking to The Forge this year? Tim invited me to bring my car last year but I didn't think it would fit in with all the other high $ restored cars. Mine is just a driver.

Hi Bill
That is quite a list. I have looked at a 3 69 SD's other than my own in the past 5 years. Only one of them was for sale. I am not sure what happened to that car. I'll have to run the VIN and find out.
The cars are still out there. I stumbled on mine by accident. It was supposed to be a 68.
Good luck.

Brad, I've been chasing Beaumonts since 1990 and I haven't found a 69 SD anywhere . I'd love to add one to the collection. Where in Ontario are you from? I live about half an hour from the bridge in Fort Erie. I'd love to see the 69 some day. Bill

Hey Brad, Do you know of roughly how many 68 SD 396 are in existanace today? I know of at least 3......and we are all members here

I am not sure how many are left. I know of 6 in Ontario not counting mine. I know of 3 more that have been wrecked or made into race cars back in the late 70's and 80's and one that was stolen so that's 11.
I know that people will say there is approximately a 10% survival rate for vehicles. They must mean for the US. I don't think the Canadian cars would be that high but some may be higher.
680 1968 SD396 hardtops sold in Canada so that would be about 68 cars.
43 69 350HP cars made and I know where 4 of them are. I know of one 325HP car and one other 69 SD but I am not sure of the motor.

I know of a 68 SD convert in Winnipeg that is getting a total ground up restoration. Also, a butternut yellow 3 speed manual 68 SD convert from Winnipeg was sold to eastern US I think. Is that one of you guys on here? Somehow I am thinking it is.

I looked at a '69 SD a few yrs ago that was a 350 hp,M-20 and 4:10 gear according to Oshawa.Limelight Green with Black int. One of {43} built with L-34

There were 702 68 SD hardtops built and 65 convertibles. I think there are 8 or 9 convertibles left. BeaumontBill has 2 of them and 1 hardtop. The estimates I have heard for the hardtops is between 70 and 100 left. I am a member of the Canadian Classic Chevelles and Beaumonts club. I think there are 10 to 12 members with 68 SDs.

That is one of the cars I saw too. It was really rough. I have the Oshawa paperwork for that one. The car sold at the swap meet in Ancaster (Hamilton).

Carl, I own the 68 butternut SD convertible from Winnipeg. It was originally sold out of Park Pontiac. The other SD is a fathom blue one sold out of the Calgary zone. I also have a red coupe. I try to keep track of any 68 or 67 sd convertibles that I see or hear of. I believe that my 2 may be the only SD convertibles in the US. I know of a red one from ontario another red one that was in the states for a bit but i've lost track, I've heard about the one from Winnipeg and I've been told about the gold one in Ontario. Any other findings? As far as sd-396 67 convertibles I know of only my red one and another one in Florida that is blue. I have talked with someone that owns another red one from the Ontario area and I have looked at pictures of the blue one out west that was for sale a while ago. I have also seen pictures of another blue one from out west. Whatever the numbers are there just doesn't seem to be many sd convertibles that are still around. I guess that makes sense if you use the 10 percent guess there should only be 6 or 7 left of each.

I'd love to see pics, especially the L79 and the 67 SD. (Not that the 68 is "nothing", but I've seen that car many times when it was here!)

A blue 67 SD convertible from Alberta Canada sold a couple months ago and ended up in California. It needed restoration but was a decent looking car. Bill, it's the one I emailed you about. I know of a beautiful 68 SD coupe for sale. Below are a couple pictures of it. James
Here are pictures of Bills 67 SD convertible. James

It is Rick Pawlas's car. Here is the info he sent me on it. He has owned it since 1970. Matching numbers 350 hp engine, 4 speed. I'll PM you his price if you are interested. He is firm on the price.

I think that the Beaumont is as original (with some body on resto) as it can be and is, other than maintenance, mechanically untouched. The 4 piston calipers originally lasted 30 years without problems, they began to leak and I had them re-built in Ontario using Stainless Steel liners no problem since then. The options are Sapphire Blue, pearl interior with Black Vinyl top. Options: A01, A39, A51, C08, A81, D55, F40, G80, J50, J52, K05, L34, M20, PW7, U14, U25, U29, U63, U73, U80, X0R and Z49. 82,000 original miles, Built Dec. 16 ,67.
