Hi, does any one know if the lower cowl panel for a 67 chev Impala will fit my 67 parisienne?
They look the same and mine is rusted out and needs repairing.
I found this repo one for an impala.

You are hilarious!! Lofty.. I should think it's identical as there is nothing specifically Pontiac about this piece.. but if you know someone with a 67 Impala take a picture of it and compare it to the one on your car...

Yes well the Parisienne is built on the Impala chassis so I would think the cowl would also be Impala, just have to get some measurements to be sure.

Here is a picture of my 67 Impala. I had to have the whole dash section replaced. Many more pictures available
The body shop sourced out a section from the States.
Photos of the donor piece
This section was put in at the factory in 3 individual pieces and the body shop had to seperate the piece into 3 pieces and install them as they would have been done in the factory

I have a few 67 Grande Parisiennes which certainly would have the same cowl as a Parisienne. Maybe I'll try to pry a hood open and take a few pictures if that would help.

lofty, that Impala cowl might only suit a LHD car. The wiper positions are different on RHD cars. (I notice your profile says you're in Australia). The wiper posts are probably further apart on RHD cars because they have opposed wipers that meet at the horizontal, whereas Canadian cars have parallel wipers. Sorry if all this is old news.

I have the cowl vent panel off my 66 Canadian Pontiac right now. Would a picture of it help at all, to compare with the cowl on the RHD car?

That's kind of you Carl. If the 66 and 67 Canadian cowl panels are the same, it would be useful. Hopefully there's enough of lofty's rusty panel left for him to see where the wiper post holes are.

I notice that there are holes for what I presume is the location of the wiper linkage on the US full size Pontiacs. I am willing to bet it's the same panel, and maybe even on all B bodies, not just Chev and Pontiac.
Was the whole thing rusty, or just the 1" or so wide where the glass sits?
I was going to ask the original poster here if that is why he is replacing his. If so, you can do just that strip.

Yes you are correct the wiper posts in my RHD are at the two outside triangle pads which can be drilled out to suit, My car has the same panel as the picture with the wiper post holes in the same position so it is the same panel for both left and right hand drive.

Thank everyone for the great pictures they look just like mine, mine is rusted just along the bottom of the windscreen but has gone through the top and back of the cowl panel and also the front of the dash panel. Here is a pic (sorry it is not very clear)
Looks like you guys are all over this. From what I can see the replacement one he has posted would accomodate the clap-hands type of wipers that he has if you do a bit of drilling. The real question is the actual dimensions that he would need. Hopefully you've go tthat careffully measured out. From where you are you really don't want to make a mistake as the freight charges must be a killler to your location.

re freight charges; if the panel needs to be in 3 sections to install; do that before shipping. The panel then is no longer an over size parcel and ship cost will drop greatly. Maybe may then go Canada Post

I had a similar problem with my cowl. At some point the windshield had been replaced and had some repair done with bondo. I goof that did it did not drill the drain holes, so the water had no place to go so it just sat and wroughted the cowl. I wasn't able to find new so I built my own in sections. So don't forget the drain holes.
It's great that some shell sheet sheet metal is becoming available , and it's my hope that I don't have any of the issues I've just seen.
But it wouldn't surprise me if it has already started on my "Rust free" car.
Do all our 65-70 big cars see this?

Thanks for that info on the drain hole, that could be what caused mine to rust out as it was all filled with bog and silastic by previous owner

Thanks everyone, you have all been a great help. Looks like the Impala lower cowl panel as in the first picture is the same as the parisienne except for where the fenders bolt on at each end, they may have wider fenders so the bolt hole is in a different position, all the wiper post holes and blank pads are in the same place.
