Wow, now we are supposed to hit -38 tonight, windchill of -49. It's been a long time since I've seen -38*
Bah! We only show -33 this morning, windchill is only -32. Not even cold...

I'm hearing 50cm is down. It's hard to tell with all the drifting. My little plow did a great job. I can't get down our road however to clear the lot at the outbuilding. No plows in sight.
Your snow quantities look about the same as ours, Todd. They are saying Halifax got about 45 cm, but with the winds and the drifting, it's like 10 cm in some places and 60 cm in others.
It was hard to sleep with the high wind gusts through the night, and then the neighbour was out with his side by side with a plow at 6:22 am. It's OK, though, because I have coffee...
Most things in the city are closed for the day, or at least the morning, so they can clean up the streets.

My deck chair is about 24 inches high, this snow gathered without wind so Id say we got around 20 inches.
Not too bad here. Only about 30 cm. and no wind (a rare occasion) on our property. Spent about 4 hours shoveling by hand, great exercise!

With a blower you could've had it done in an hour and have 3 hours to work on the Pontiac! lol

I hit the road at 7:30 this morning. There wasn't any snow yet and the roads were dry. It started coming down pretty good when I got to Summerside (90 mins from home). The roads are slick but visibility is good. Here in the "banana belt" of PEI we have ice pellets coming down pretty good. I'm working (am I working? lol) from home the rest of the day.

Pretty granular stuff here. I shoveled the mouth of our driveway and it was just like ice-sand and as heavy as sand also. It has stopped for now.

Been a long time since we seen temperatures like this even if its just for today
I'd say today I experienced one of the worst days of driving since moving here. It's been around -14c with 70k gusts and squalls on and off. My commute this morning from home to Charlottetown was fine. I hit Charlottetown and it had started snowing. By the time I got to the other side of Charlottetown and on the way to Summerside visibility varied from a few yards to nill. Coming back wasn't as bad however the drive from my office in Montague to home was nasty. The highways out my way just get sand and it appears the one I take home hasn't had any applied so far. Since it was raining last night you can imagine what the road was like with these winds blowing across the highway now. Needless to say I'm glad we're allowed studded tires.

Yes, very bad up our way. I just went outside after lunch for about a half hour today to scrape off the vehicle windows and dump the trash/compost. It was blowing hard, about a -25 wind chill. Tomorrow will be a shoveling day.
Studded tires are the way to go in these road conditions.
