We had a major soaking this morning and the tropical storm is still a few hours away. It looks like I'm located more on the wind side of the storm where the northwest part of PEI is expected to get a lot of rain. I see right now the storm has 80kmh sustained winds.
I t wasn't bad here.
Boy, are plants ever doing well! A slow start to Spring, but so green here now!

You are right the storm didn't amount to much at all here. You are also correct about plants. The garden is doing very well and my lawn is growing like a weed.

Our winds picked up quite a bit through the night - thought it might get worse as the trees were really moving around, but in the end it only knocked over 1 deck chair.

Week after week after week......I am way beyond sick of this.
all the fires out west and we are to receive 3 inches of rain in south Niagara in the next day and a half. I spent the afternoon cutting grass and I am glad I did. The yard is under water this morning

Carl ... That makes 2 of us... This is going to continue for the next 2 weeks too. I have not cut my grass for over a month , and it still does not need it .
Grass is pretty well shot , and I suspect the grass hoppers will eat it all soon . I'm concentrating on the trees in my yard (100+ year old oaks ) and making sure they are getting water , as they are stressed .

Man, I was just checking the Public Weather Alerts on Environment Canada's site, and it seems like most of populated Canada has air quality advisories due to forest fire smoke. They show up as the grey areas on the map below. The red areas in Quebec are smog warnings due to forest fire smoke.
Maybe my memory isn't so good, but I don't remember this being such an issue 20 or 30 years ago. These days it seems like every summer there are major forest fires in almost every province that last for a good chunk of the summertime.
We got Ida's leftovers here in PEI yesterday. Charlottetown saw the most amount of rain in one day ever. Over 128mm. I see near Darryl (Pontiacanada) they had 142mm.
My son was in Charlottetown last night and almost submerged his Honda on a main street. Luckily he had the insight to turn the car around before any damage was done. The students at Holland College weren't so lucky. The parking lot:
We had a few heavy rain showers here and some gusty winds later in the day, but I saw on the weather radar that the track of the major rain was just to the northwest of us, tracking directly towards PEI. Hope you guys didn't sustain any major water damage.

Not here, we are on top of a hill and have sandy soil. The area around was okay also.

We had wind 50-70kph and about 17mm in Mahone Bay.
Larry is swinging out eastward so far but on track now to miss NS and go over the eastern part of Nfld. Then post tropical track to Greenland. Dont think Ive ever seen anything like this hit Greenland.
