It would appear Pontiac made the Ch**y frames then.

I looked on a Beaumont frame today and found the "hidden VIN" we always hear about. It was on the passenger rail just behind the trunk floor body mount (second mount from the back)
I had never actually seen one before. The whole VIN was not there, only partial. Interesting to see though.

I talked to a guy at the CanAm Chevelle show in Grand Island Now York a few months ago about his 67 Beaumont SD. He is the original owner. When he did the restoration he found the same PON stamped on his frame.

I am pretty convinced there must have been a frame plant in Pontiac.
Seems to me the GTO restoration guide list 2 locations that A body frames were made.
Somehow I think one was in the midwest (not PON)

I know this is a old post but Just looked at my 69 Beaumont frame and has the following ;
Part # 3943331
5-1-69-2
There is no PON But there is the letters ( Yes ) looks like it was stamped over one of the factory holes in the frame so blocks out the other letters.Y could be a V not sure. You can just see remnants of two other letters. mabe Hayes.

I assume the 5-1-69-2 is May first, 1969, shift #2.
YES is anybody's guess!

what date does your cowl tag say?

Lower left hand corner of cowl tag is 5C would that mean third week of may ? If so would be correct for the frame made three week before.
