Thanks a lot. It keeps throwing hubcaps at the moment which is getting annoying. Fortunately no major damage but it does take a while to find them! Bent the teeth out which helps for a while but think getting someone to weld a few spots on the rims to give the cap something more to grip on to might be the plan. Unless you clever lot have any suggestions?

Check and see how close the covers are to the rim if they touch or are very close they may be flexing and popping off

Thanks Carl. They are pretty snug against the rim. So you reckon there should be a bit of clearance? Funny thing is they're not easy to put on and you need to really pry them off with a screw driver. Yet go for a drive and...bang! ding, ding, ding!

I ran a tire shop for 35 years when I was younger I installed every cover and trim ring and hub cap by hand Never lost one lol
but I'd guess they are flexing off
If you could find some stn wagon rims with wider lip to outside (most stn wagon rims were just reversed- had to dismount tires off the backside)
or try the cover on another vehicle with a wider lip to prove my thoughts

As it's a jag front end and Holden rear I've had the jag rims on there. Just having a set of old chev rims blasted and painted today and will try them. They certainly have a bit less of a radius to the lip than the Jag ones so hopefully just that little bit more to grab on to for the hubcap teeth.
