not a lot of snow but the winds whipping it across the road turn to ice and there were lots of cars off the road into the rhubarb

Couldn't see the road at the end of my lane 6:30 this morning. Called in, went back to bed, got up- sun is out and it's calm. Oops... I needed a mental health day anyway.

I went out snow-shoeing in the blizzard, then all of a sudden, no snow, no wind, around +2, and sunshine on the return trip. Then the temp dropped again just as I finished shovelled the driveway, the wind picked up, and the snow returned. More shovelling tomorrow morning.

Yep. She's howlin' out there now. Gusts to 120kmh tonight! I spent all afternoon being "Good Samaritan". A lady down the road came up to me when I was snowblowing the lane and said she heard that I "was a mechanic" and asked if I could fix her snowblower. Well I corrected her on the mechanic part and had a look. Her hubby had replaced a belt and had the blower tore down more than it needed to be. Pieces all over the place. I think he was out west working. So 2.5 hours later I was frozen but the blower worked. The belt he put in was also wrong but she had an extra new one that fit. There was a voice mail on my wife's phone from this lady's mother saying "Your husband was magical".

Not too shabby for a CFA....!
You can keep your blizzard, I'll take the sunny and calm -25 we've been having this week.

I guess Calgary is getting hit now. Wifes plane had mech issues so they turned back then had to de ice then they shut down the airport. the girls may miss the cruise ship if they don't get out tomorrow
I don't want this to turn into a political thread. Lots of strong opinions on climate change, especially for those who have livelihoods in energy (oil and green) and it can get messy. I guess time will tell who's right eh?
Thought I was going to be putting the car away, but still out enjoying the weather with my youngest boy!!![james and i.jpg james and i.jpg](/download.spark?ID=1803192&aBID=118110)
