There is a very faint bell ringing on the blue 64, was that at an Impala meet or at our shop in Stony? Anyway doesn't matter, we will meet up again soon and figure it all out.

According to the vin # it is a v8 car auto with a 12 bolt not sure of what gears or if it's a posi yet I just bought it a couple of weeks ago.i was told the frame was replaced and I looked at it before I paid for it but when I got home and lifted it off the ground I found chunks of angle iron that some hack welded to the frame and siliconed the edges so you couldn't see. It looked like a solid frame but I don't trust it and it probably won't pass safety

I wonder if Kevin Jackson might have a frame. I know he had a 66 Grande Parisienne which I would think is the same. I have his number at home.

The Grande frame will work, all he would have to change is the rear crossmember at the bumper.

My understanding is that the 65 through 70 frames are nearly identical except for the change in steering in 67 or 68 I believe. Revised pitman arm location and steering box(??) or is it just the idler arm that changed?
This would open up a few frame options if you are not extensively worried about numbers correct or concours resto.

Idler arm/steering arms & linkage changes in groups, 65/66, 67/68/, 69/70, and throw disc brakes in there for different spindles. The 67 up has revised steering geometry. It's actually the new big thing for 65/66 cars to change out to. They say the frames will interchange all the way through, body mounts all in the same places, but I'm sure there are other differences between the pairings. The easy one is the rear most cross member, no big deal to change as long as you have the one from your frame. When I changed mine I used a 65 Cdn Pontiac frame and had to change it, so there is a difference Chev to Pontiac, everything else was fine, but that was 65 for 65. What I don't know for sure is if there were any changes to the front frame horns over the years, or if all the early holes are in the later frames.

Hmm, I wonder what he IS selling off it then. I tried to buy the exhaust off it about 5 years back when he was parting it out and he didn't want to sell it either.
