We had mostly rain which then turned to snow late afternoon. 2 cm on the ground at most.
Going up to +9 and sunny today, so it'll be gone in minutes.

Interesting satellite photo showing PEI after yesterday's snow. You can see the white stuff to the right of where the confederation bridge is and green to the left. I'm located near the bottom right (in the banana belt except for yesterday )
Beautiful view from above today! Clear skies lets NASA's modis satellite see exactly where yesterday's heaviest snowfall occurred. Note the sharp line across southeastern NB & central PEI and also the lack of snow along the Atlantic coast where rain mixed in.

Yes. He said eastern PEI would get the most snow, with lessening amounts the farther west you go.
That's what I saw/heard in every forecast.

Well, this sounds like fun......
A Colorado low will move towards Minnesota Tuesday night bringing a heavy swath of snow from southeastern Saskatchewan through most of southern Manitoba. The snow will start early Tuesday evening near the International border then push northward throughout the night. By Wednesday morning heavy snow will be falling in much of the area as the storm continues to push northward, and snow accompanied by strong northerly winds is expected to continue right through to early Friday morning as the low slowly pivots through Minnesota on it's way into northwestern Ontario. By Friday morning widespread snowfall accumulations of 30 to 50 cm are expected...with possible accumulations approaching 80 cm in the higher terrain of western Manitoba and the western Red River Valley.
Travel will become increasingly difficult as the day progresses Wednesday, with widespread highway closures a near-certainty. By Wednesday evening even travel within communities may become impossible as the heavy snow and strong winds continue... and more of the same is expected on Thursday.
Do not plan to travel - this storm has the potential to be the worst blizzard in decades. Stock up on needed supplies and medications now. Power outages are likely, rural areas in particular should be prepared for extended outages.

When I was out walking today I saw a guy on a motorcycle. I wanted to tell him to take it home and trade it for his snowmobile because that will be next!

We should be all good here. I've been talking with the neighbours, we're all on the same page. Everyone is stocking up, the grocery store was extra busy for a Monday when I went in there early afternoon.

I lived in St. Johns on June 13, 1976, we had 13 cms, not a blizzard but it looked like a white Christmas. Hunker down Carl. We had white Juan in Feb 2004 here, 4 days, 100 cms, wind 120+, no power for a week.

So far this is the view of our driveway. Not an issue, just a few flakes on it. Wind is roaring pretty good though.
We've had that for about 5 days now. A little rain, some snow and pretty cold. Its like a hangover that just wont let up.
