Kelico, are you still here? Can't thank you enough for the hubcap, Fall 2009. All 4 are now in the trunk and were replaced with new baby moons that look ok with the car.
Beaumontguru, I did as you said and got the GM docs September 2009. Model 737-73867 weight 3075-3370lbs .... with 336 produced in Canada, (less than 50 with L/30). Not sure what L/30 means but doubt it's what I have. Engine # 855625359, 327 CID 250HP 4bbl Econoflame V8, 250HP, awww, shucks. Still have the original keys, ignition and trunk.
Have a question and am sure that someone will know what I'm talking about.
A few years ago I came across the perfect site that actually had my particular type of car and many of yours. It had 3-4+ columns per model # stating estimated current value depending on condition. I forgot to bookmark it and can't find what I did print, auckkkkkk.
All of you are awesome and I wish there was more time to do more than just lurk.

I don't know how I missed this thread back in 2008. I joined 2 days before this thread started.
L30 is simply GM's option code for the 250-horse 327 that year. L74 was for the 300-horse & L79 was for the 350-horse version.
That is really an amazing find today. Production of the 1965 V8 SD convertibles was 336. I didn't realize how rare they were when I was a kid back in the 60s & 70s. My neighbor in Ancaster back from 1966 - 70 owned a nice 1965 Beaumont SD convertible. Her car had a single exhaust so I assumed it was a common 283 V8. You never know though, it could have been the L30. She loved that car but unfortunately the years of all-weather driving in the rust belt just killed it. The last time I saw it was in 1977. It was abandoned on the side of Highway 403 with the gas tank fallen to the pavement and the quarters, rockers and fenders all rusted to oblivion. It used to be such a pretty car, white with a white top & red interior.
Jean, it is so great to see one of the best of the Beaumonts in such good hands. I know of another beautiful Beaumont that has had a similar history to yours. It is a 67 Beaumont Custom Sport Coupe in the hands of the 2nd owner and has cared for it since 1968. Gail Pommeroy has kept her Beaumont in impeccable condition and all original. Hers even has rare power windows and very rare power seat. I have never heard of another Canadian Chevelle or Beaumont from that era with it.

This car was driven anywhere and everywhere year round until my Dad turned it over to me about 1982 and it was in rough shape. My good friend wanted to tackle the redo and we lifted the motor and stripped the car down to bare bones, literally. Pieces everywhere and boxes of nuts and bolts, heheh. He fabricated and replaced parts of the 1/4 panels using the old as his template. My lawn was littered with chrome when I cleaned the pieces and painted the undersides with black Tremclad. Anyway, we eventually got it all back together and he painted it slightly lighter than original (back to original in 1994).
The motor was drinking a "lot" of oil back then but eventually converted to unleaded gas and all runs like a charm these days. All numbers match. Missing a few small pieces like the cover for the interior light at end of console and just lost an "A" off the trunk lid this year, arggggh. The radio still works fine but the clock does not. The roof motor is original as are the interior door panels. The dash and instrument panel should be pale blue but is silverish (1982 redo). The dash padding is original. The boot cover is original although somewhat tight. Had the missing clips replaced along with the hard plastic stuff but it's too tight to get on properly. Think I'll have my upholsterer friend take off the hard edges next year so the cover will have more give. He happened to have the exact fabric match back in 1994 so the bucket seats were redone. I didn't think the back bench seat was done but he says he did do that too. He still holds the fabric he has left just in case.
CdnGMfan, I requested and received info from GM in 2009 and they sent pages and pages of stuff. I knew there were only 336 done in Canada. It also says (less than 50 with L/30). It is 327 CID 250HP V8. Is that L/30? It doesn't matter at all to me ....... but if it is ... then I'd have 1 of less than 50 and "that" would be pretty darn cool.
The production plant was Oshawa, ON and the production date was February 25, 1965 (my 12th birthday, which makes it even more special). It was shipped to Reid Motors in Kamloops BC, March 2, 1965. The 1st buyer returned it to them and that's where my Dad bought it.
It's so nice to get back here for a bit and see all the gorgeous cars out there.

Thank you papeldog. My car was originally purchased in Kamloops from Reid Motors on Victoria March 25, 1965. I still have the warranty/service book with his name on it. My Dad bought the car in 1966, from the original owner or from Reid Motors if it had been retuned, not too sure.
I've been on this site since 2008 but don't get a chance to keep up much. Kelico was awesome back in 2009 when I lost a hubcap. He had an exact replacement and my brother brought it here that Christmas.
Lance, a little grainy but hope this helps. No mention in the manual. Tried to get the wiring in a well.
Yes great place to buy cars. Reid Motors used to be on the corner of Victoria and 4th or 5th Ave I can't remember which and across the street was Sid Smiths Chev Olds. There was also a Reid Motors in a town in Saskatchewan but I don't remember what town it was back in the 70's I think somewhere north of Swiftcurrent. I stopped in and talked to them they said they always got the mail for Reid Motors in Kamloops. Jim

So glad the photo helped, Lance. If there's anything else I can contribute, please ask. I have an original Canadian Manual ... 1965 Pontiac/Acadian/Acadian Beaumont Chassis Shop Manual, published 1964 ( in anticipation of the 65 models?).
Apparently there is a "Show & Shine" affair at our local A&W parking lot this Saturday. Short notice. Weather permitting, I'll be there. There are many people in this smallish community with either Antique, Vintage and/or Classic cars. Looking forward to it and hope I have time tomorrow to polish the beast.

Last year I didn't get mine out of the garage until July, groan. Your question, Lance, got the ball rolling nice and early, thank you, thank you.
Not a big deal but the trans fluid loves the garage floor over winter and that was the first order of business. Took off the manifold, primed the carb manually (yes it's a four barrel Rochester G something) fired up and it purred :). Added a quart and half of D3 tran fluid and we're ready to go. My first stop is always to my long time mechanical/transmission friend, Roy, who checks everything out. He's the 'only' person who drives it other than me and he'll be over soon to do the annual road test. I think it's time to upgrade the shocks? Aren't those the things that make bumps in the road more friendly??
I simply can't express how much this care means to me.
For those of you in Canada, North, South, East or West there is a great Victoria, BC site that is sooooo worth belonging to, simply a wealth of information, parts, sales, help, info, name it, you have it. Don Earnshaw is a peach. Spoke to him 1994-5 ish and have been a member ever since.
