Power off at 730am, lost 2 fairly large trees, never fell on anything. In Mahone Bay, 2 sailboats came loose from their moorings, one headed to church and went aground by the parking lot, the other to a beach. Last I heard, 120,000 lost power, that number is likely to go way up as our trees havent even changed colour yet.

Winds are picking up here. Were supposed to only see gusts up to 90kmh today into tomorrow. We are switching from heavy rain to sunshine and back the last hour or so. I heard there are over 100000 without power in Nova Scotia. I haven't heard from my sister there so I suspect she's without power as well.

PS. We are still seeing hummingbirds at the feeder today in this wind, amazing little birds.

The winds are definetly picking up. Some small power outages on the island. I took this pic at the rear of my property 20 mins ago. Was quite nice out despite the winds (and no mosquitoes!)
It's been mostly a wind event in the Halifax area, with wind gusts all day that actually picked up a bit in the past couple of hours. A few trees down and some power outages, though I haven't lost mine yet. Sounds like Don in Mahone Bay made out much worse on this one.

We lost power for 12 hours. My internet is terrible right now so I'm hotspotting my phone (which isn't much better). No trees down in the yard. A friend had a tree fall just short of his greenhouse.

Glad you made out alright, Todd.
It wasn't too bad where I was, thankfully. Did a quick survey this morning and couldn't find any damage. Just a lot of shredded leaves, pine needles, etc. stuck to everything.

Im still without power and havent seen a light and power truck anywhere around here. Just lost a few more trees around the house. Our power grid is awful around here.
My phone internet service was off from 5pm yesterday until about a half hour ago.

2 out there now, showing they will cross paths, which Ive not seen before. Present general direction means it will miss us, but who knows.
There's a strong ridge of high pressure over us (which is finally giving us a long stretch of sunny weather) that will cause the storm to move to the east.
This is the best weather we've had all summer (even though it's now autumn). I've been replacing rocker panels on a truck so it's nice to be working outside with mild temps and no mosquitoes!
We've had a couple of frosts so far.
"A few changes from the overnight Euro run. Phillipe heads north as a subtropical system. Winds look to pick up early Sunday morning 60 gusting to 90 kph by 7am, then drop back by mid to late afternoon. Canadian model has the strongest winds on the north shore and Kings, gusting to 90. It's a little later, early Monday morning. GFS, as always the outlier passes the system to the west and wind gusts over 100kph for most of the island. Based on what I'm reading, it's not being considered seriously. As always this is what I'm seeing and not a forecast."
Don, you were right. I was hearing this one was going out to sea but apparently not. I guess I'll have the generator on standby again.

90 - 100 kph are still high enough to cause some damage. EC has shifted the track a little to the west.
It was 27 here yesterday, beautiful day. Bought a new generator at Costco for my 85 year old neighbour, may need it Sunday. I got it running, it has a remote start, it started at the touch of a button.

Incredible weather here
I would have taken this all summer. Perfect weather for working outside!
And the bubble is about to break
Hey Todd, what is your weather guru saying about this one:
I have to say I'm getting a little tired of this...

My local guru is saying this:
"A few changes from the overnight Euro run. Phillipe heads north as a subtropical system.
