They flew over Charlottetown last Wednesday. Got a decent video of them.
That's great Todd, just never get tired of seeing those jets flying in low.
I have a flight tracker radar app on the mobile, boy has traffic ever dried up around Toronto. Where we live you can count on a flight ever two minutes flying over either landing or taking off from Pearson or Billy Bishop but not now and the ones that are up are typically UPS and FedEX or other Cargo Carriers plus the odd Air Canada going between cities. The thing we notice is Air Canada is pulling out the big boys for these flights, like the Airbus 330 and Boeing 767 I suppose to get as much social distance on board, we don't see the smaller Embraers any longer. The approaches are much lower too we see them at 1500 to 3000 feet over neighborhood.
And back to weather, its a full on Blizzard in Toronto zero visibility and high winds.

Looking back at my post in January, talking about +9 and rain, it strikes me as not being much different than weather we are getting now in May, except today it's +7 and rain. Snow flurries tonight and tomorrow, but in many parts of NB they are predicting 15 - 30 cm of snow... crazy!
Looking forward to warmer days, even if we have to stay inside! lol
I'm sure Vancouver Island is sunny and 30 today....

We had a great April and, up to two days ago, May also. Unseasonably warm, even hot some days. It turned cooler yesterday and looks to stay that way til the end of the week but, thanks to the Gulf stream, our temperatures are much better than you guys and gals have to endure. I should be sunbathing again by Saturday!

The rainbow ends at my brother's house.
He said he might have some vintage Molson's Golden but that's all.

Our forecast for May long weekend is REALLY nice. I'm staying home but I'm really really curious to see how many people with cabins in Northwest Ontario head that direction and what repercussions there are, if any when they come back to Manitoba. Plus I hear the citizens of Kenora have been pretty rough on Manitobans coming there up to this point. How will people stay home after what we've been going through? It's one thing when it freezes most nights but stay home when it's 25*? We'll see.

I dont know what the issue would be really. Most people can get totally stocked up from their home base and the only stop you may need to make is a fuel stop. Pack lots of grub and you can even make a sandwich for the way home. Especially if youre just going for 4 or 5 days.

I would stop in Manitoba for fuel. Continue to the cabin with no stops. Spend a night or two there. On that way home, same place in Manitoba for a fuel stop. Never even get out of the truck in Ontario except at our Ontario home.
I agree, I don't see the issue. However, we'll see how it goes for everyone for the long weekend and take it from there. It's our busy season at work so I volunteered to keep the parts department open on Monday for the farmers who break down. That way I won't be tempted to head to Ontario for the weekend!

That's what people should be doing in theory, but it is not happening. Cottage goers are stopping and buying up huge quantities of food in small communities. My buddy's community in Ontario's cottage country is going through this, and the people are POd. They don't like seeing "foreign" licence plates, just like here on PEI.

And I totally agree with that. Why can't they do everything before they leave home, get to their other home and stay put?
If they would go to their own place and truly isolate they'd have the same or even less contact vs. if they stayed at their other home.
Time will tell, this weekend will be a good indicator of how it's going to go.

I still get Ontairo weather alerts. Just saw this one:
Current details: At 8:48 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.
Tornado just southeast of Dorchester may reach the Ingersoll area by 9.15 PM.
This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation.
----------------------------------
We rarely get thunderstorms here in PEI. Mother nature saves them all up and gives it to us as a Hurricane
