I have a restored 1966 Beaumont conv. it is a original 283 car but I have a 74 LT1 40 over with 202 heads intake and quad, mild cam. 400 turbo tranny with street street strip kit and a 10 bolt posi with 355's. Ive done the majority of the resto myself including interior, over a period of 18 yrs when funds and time would allow. I am now working on a 1966 chevelle malibu SS 4 speed car, building it back to stock. I have some odd and end parts and some acadian hub caps a cpl different sets, I will post pics as well.
The car was RED and you painted it light green... It was a RED convertible! What color was it original? a red conv? Nice

the car was origianlly royal mist metallic with a white top n light blue interior, the colour it is now is med malichite metalic, in other words the same colour as oxidized copper. I get a lot of compliments on the colour because they say its not painted like a lot of others like red blk or yellow ect.

But...I am converting to vinyl. I bought Impala covers from NOS reproductions. Why do you ask? You don't have a roll of NOS cloth kicking around, do you?

I know. I got a sample from SMS. Cost is a bit of an issue though. I'd have about 3 grand into the seats by the time I buy the material from SMS and pay someone to sew them. For about $600 I got Impala vinyl covers from NOS Reproductions and can install them myself.

Yep, I would go that route too. The interior kits look nice fit good and are really not that difficult to install. If you do not have a good set of hog ring pliers buy them they are worth the app. $40.00. I went to buy the cloth insert material for our 1981 Z28 from SMS and I thought it was expensive at the time with the US exchange around $1.50 and the shipping costs. So I went to our local Standard Auto Glass and they were really helpful. It turns out the Camaros used the same material as the Cavaliers as id from a material book called The Detroit Book. I took the seats out and removed the covers and Standard replaced the cloth only as the vinyl was in really good condition. It only cost $300.00. The replacement material was also a slight upgrade in quality as they claim it has something in it to stop sunfade. The original cloth was literally dry rotting at the top of the back seat. The car has the T-roof option so that probably is the source of the problem. Al
