I'm seeing ads for free to air satellite recievers all over the place. Anyone have one? Are they worth buying? Looks like it costs about $350 to get started. I've always been a bit of a communications geek but I can't justify it if all I can watch is Al Jezeerah... Todd

I have FTA. Wide open, depends what you are looking for. Definitely worth it, just no guarantees how stable it will be...

I've got FTA. When its up and running its great but when they decide to crash it which has been a lot since Christmas it does get frustrating. You definately need a computer and a USB to download the "fix" for when it crashes. As far as being worth the $350.00 for sure it is. I figured we got our money back in a couple of months just by not renting movies and by not going to the theatres. Who really wants to leave a warm house to go to a show when its -25C in Jan and Feb. Todd if you do buy one let me know and I'll email you the sites that have the quickest fixes fot it. Al
