Just got new springs delivered, and am about to install. I would like to raise the stance of the rear end as well, any suggestions? I have seen the lift kits and spring caps, and some youtube vids of products, but would like to hear from someone who has done it. Maybe the new springs and shocks will come close. The ride is fantastic now, but sits too low. Just recently bought the car from one family owner and will am going to list it for sale very soon. I hope it doesnt sell until at least next fall, but have to test the waters. Any profit margin there is, will be gone as I invest in restoration, but its such an awesome car. My dilemma is that it seems too nice and tight to start racking up the miles, but it needs nothing so why sink more money into it? Any opinions? Thanks

I bought them as Catalina, but asked him to send 66 impala instead they are aluminum spacers to boilt to bottom of coil springs I will take a picture today...

Excellent. I would like to put them in. Did you try them. I think that the new replacement springs I bought are not identical to the original. They have pigtail tops. They were just bought from Carquest who had ordered them for me. (fingers crossed) I assume that the spacers are designed for the original springs. I'll know more once I get them off, or I get a response from someone who has replaced theirs similarly. I'm just not ready to garage her for the winter yet, but soon.
The spacers are a very good idea Carl, and they would retain you original springs and be very easy to install as well. To get the stance you like with new springs is a hit and miss imop. There are so many types and rates out there, how could you possibly find the ones that are "just right"? For adjustability AifLift 1000 airbags in used springs would be the way to go imop.
65-70 B Body Airlift 1000 bags I installed in my project chassis springs. $100.
If you're planning on selling it turn2stone, why spend a red cent on it? You'll likely not ever see that money back. They always sat low. It looks fine. Mine is even lower.

Thats definitely an option worth looking into. I didnt know that they existed. I really dont expect to sell this car, but have to test the market to see if its originality makes it worth anything. The most likely scenario is that it becomes my summer driver, and will look considerably more muscle bound and less classy when I am done with it. It must be the Maritime french in my blood, but it needs to 'pop' more. The original powertrain will always stay. I am a very patriotic Canadian, so what better to drive. Theres not enough places to go these days.

I dont know if that will affect its value, but wont hurt, and I can verify some of the claims. . 2dr worth any more than 4 dr? 40800 miles matching #'s. Original Rams head, new dual from the manifolds back. Paint is tired, its probably 10 years old EVERYTHING works, interior is very good.

I'd think the 2 Dr will be worth more than a 4 Dr. Yours is obviously special in that it has very, very little mileage. Not sure how the 283 will affect it overall. You should have it pro appraised, spend the 250. Now that doesn't mean you'll ever see even close to the appraised value, but I think it can be a really good selling feature that can attract people.
Hopefully you'll be able to sell it to someone who is into the CP thing. I'm sure you'll have no trouble if the price is fair. That car is special.
