OK, I just got the back bumper off. Disconnected reverse lights, four bolts and its done. I'm not so convinced about the front. The four front bolts are soaking/loosening right now. I'm not sure what part of the housing comes off, and what will stay, its hard to see exactly. Any pointers would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Off a USA chassis, but perhaps this shot might give you a few clues.

It does indeed. Thanks! Looks like that one got cut off. I'll loosen them up and see what we've got.

Here is how I did my 67 2+2. The GP should be the same unless the hidden headlights need some special attention.
Remove the valance from under the bumper. Loosen all 4 bolts from the frame. Support the bumper, remove the bolts and slide it out. I used a tranny jack to support the bumper when I did the 2+2 and it made life much easier than trying to muscle it by myself.

I have done my fair share of these.. Just do a 67rag396 instructed plus remove the vacuum lines to the headlight pot!! Also, if you have a spacer between the frame and bumper mount, be sure to mark which side it belongs to............

OK, thanks for all the help. They are both off. Disconnected vaccum hoses. Removed clip, 8" pin, bracket all to clear rad support(part 22 in pic), removed valance, 4 main bolts and its off. Thanks again. (rear had 5 main, and disconnect plate licence lamp.)

Here's another scan of the headlamp door setup. Might be of use at some point.

yessir. Looks very familiar. 8,13,19,20 had to come off. The rest remained with the bumper. Its movin right along. I lost the C clip for the (8)actuator rod (it flew) I expect to find it when I clean up, or its a pretty standard replacement. I like the way these lights operate, its a good setup to me.

I agree. It's a good setup in that both doors are driven together. How many times in the past did you see hideaway cars rolling along with one door open, or with the doors badly out of alignment?
Can one door be adjusted slightly to adjust the gap better? One of mine is just slightly out of alignment with the main grill. It probably would be near impossible anyway without removing the entire assembly.

It looks like it can be adjusted without too much problem depending what the cause is I guess. The bolts indicated in the first pic are on the inside ds. They are slightly slotted to adjust the mount. You could access with the bulb out and propped open I think. The second pic shows a missing bushing on mine, I could see it sagging a little if I didnt replace it. Same access. In pic 3 the bolt extended out from the housing should have a bushing for the covers to rest on, maybe one is gone. Perhaps there is another solution, but I'd start there. It looks so much easier from the back.
