Hey guys,Ive been away from the site for awile so ive got some new pics to show.I found out about this 54 sedan delivery from a freind while he was visiting in Prince George,it was picked over after years of siting but still has lots of useable parts. The owner wanted 150 bucks for it so it was cheap enough but its a loooong way to prince george from here, about 12 hours or so ive heard,so I kinda put it on the backburner for awile. Then I got a call from the owner a few months later saying he was coming to vancouver with an empty trailer and if I paid some for gas he would load up the delivery and bring it down, now how could I say no to that.So now Im the owner of a 54 delivery, not sure if im going to restore it or use it as a parts car if i could find another, just love the old sedan deliveries, anyways another one rescued from the crusher,oh ya ill send in the numbers soon.
Cool! Were those side rear windows a factory option, or did some enterprising previous owner make them?

First thoughts I had too as they just look so right!. Somehow the shape looks more like pre '49 Ford Tudor rear side glass but take a few dimensions and compare to similar vintage GM glass?.
Regardless of if you keep the side glass openings or not, being a delivery the car's worth saving.. Nice deal too!.

Other than the cut out side window, cool deal. Seems people put these windows in alot of S/D's as they had "BAD" blind spots. Unfortunatley this ruins the car unless you weld them back up [ IMO] I like the solid sides, they were built to be a truck, not a "wagon"

I dont think the side windows were factory, there was glass in them when the car left Prince George but they were missing when the car pulled into town Yikes! Hope no one was close when that happened, must have blown out somewhere along the highway. If I restore the car ill be welding up the holes,I like the looks of the sides clean with no glass, although theres one heck of a blind spot

Problem: blind spot Solution: BIG side mirrors
(I LOVE the big side mirrors on my truck, it makes me crazy when I drive my wife's Mustang with those itty bitty side mirrors!)
Or if you wanted to be really trick, you could install one of those back-up cameras, eh?
Keep us posted!

I know my 54 is solid all the way down the sides so probably an owner custom job.Bit it sure looks alot more solid than mine and i 'm pretty sure mine is still restaorable. If the wood floors are missing i could send you the pattern as i have mine from my car and they are still pretty solid.Just 3/8 plywood by the look of them.Kinda reminds me of when i used to work on british sports cars and their wooden floors. There are a couple parts cars floating around my area that i would love to grab for some spare parts.

Thanks for the offer on the wood floor patterns, cant remember what shape the floors are in but I will be at the car this weekend so ill get a good look at them.Ive decided to fix the old girl up,ive found a decent front clip from an american pontiac that I did some trading to get,and the rest I can make if need be,all it takes is time and money right?

Cool looking Delivery, those back windows give it a hearse look to it. Paint it black and put some silk window shades on those side windows and make it a hearse.
