Hi all, I just stumbled across this place. I had given up on finding Canuck Poncho info! Great!
I have a 1949 Pontiac four door sedan, with the plain back, not torpedo.
It's got 58,000 miles on it now, I've had the car four about three years, and I've put about 5,000 miles on it. Last summer, I went on a camping trip, from Victoria BC, to Stettler AB and back. A great trip at 50 mph, averaged 19 mpg, which amazed me, as my car has one slightly lazy cylinder, number six needs new rings.
The oil pan had never been off the car until I cleaned it, there was a full quart of sediment in the pan, and the sedimentor, I guess that thing really does work with non-detergent oil!
Just thought I'd say hi here, I stumbled in while looking for info on sedan deliveries. I could see myself someday having a sedan delivery for work. I'm self employed you see. Right now I have a 1950 Chev 1 ton that's stock. I've put 14,000 miles on it in the last 2 years, and the rough ride around our crappy streets, mostly down town, does get to me. It's a bit like riding in a wheel barrow that has a concrete tire.
So, Hi everybody, great to see your cars here.

I'm 32, I have a 1926 Model T, so I tend to set the year thing at 1926. I don't know why.
I will try and post a few pictures here of my car. I really don't have too many pictures. I'll have to take some more I suppose.

Yes, I do go on the 'bolt now and then, what with my truck not being restored, and driving it so much. Seems like there is always something to do on it.
Thanks for making the pictures bigger!
That cabin is just outside of Banff, AB on the old highway. Johnston Canyon. It was pouring and cold, and the tent wasn't too appealing. The cabin had a little gas fireplace, it was so warm and cozy!
Thanks for the kind words on the old car. In real life, you can see how the repaint has worn right back down to the original paint. It gives it that honest look.
On the trip home, driving over the Coquihalla it was 35 out, so very hot. That was when I did wish that I had an outside visor. In fact, we stopped at that roadside auto muesum thing, where the cars sit out rusting in the field. There was a '48 I think, Torpedo back, with a visor there. I tried to buy the visor from the owner of the car, who was there, working on some other car. I would have paid anything for it I was so hot, but he wouldn't sell. I assume it's still there, sitting, rusting away. I figure I'll find one someday.

Welcome aboard. Love the car and the photos Christopher. You and I will talk, I'm thinking of driving my '52 down the Pacific Coast Highway, and I'm curious as to how yours did on the long haul. Again, great car, great photos, and welcome!

Welcome here.
It's great that guys are finding this site. Until 2 years ago it seemed like we were on our own and it was "good luck with your search" when it came to parts and info. That has certainly changed...
