Hi, I live in Saskatchewan. Stumbled across this site and found it interesting. Brought up some good old memories. I bought a 67 Beaumont SD and a 67 Chevelle Malibu in 1979 when I got out of high school. It is a long time ago but I remember putting the 4speed into the chevelle. It was a luxury model with a 327 2 speed auto that had come from California. it didn't have much power but lots of cool options, air cond., p.s., p.b., power windows, a power bench seat, and tinted glass. I had planned on making one car out of the two back then. I even bought the local police car- a 1967 2dr police interceptor and stuck the motor in the Chevelle. That old policecar was neat, black with the white doors, a speedo up to 140 and it said red tag special on the serial # plate. A police muscle car built to catch all the other muscle cars around then!
I think I am going to go and look at them old cars tomorrow, they've been parked since about 1985 so probably not much left of them but they do bring up a lot of fond memories.

Well I went and had a look at the old cars. The Chevelle sits down by my shop. It is still all there but somebody needed the 4 barrel carb off the 396. It has some rust on the bottom of the rear quarters and on the roof- the vinyl is almost all gone. The hood has a dent in the middle where somebody bent it trying to close it. A bunch of unopened chrome pieces in the trunk- emblems wheel well chrome etc. Seems to me I tried to buy all the SuperSport chrome for it from gm back then and got about half of it- the rest wasn't available anymore. The motor appears to be seized but the black interior looks really good.
The Sport Deluxe is surrounded by fairly large trees. Appears to still be all there except for the tranny. The console has a shift pattern for a three speed standard on it- is that possible with a 396? I think it was an m21 or m22 that went into the Chevelle so something got changed over the years.
Apparently the old police car was used for a greenhouse for a couple of years and then a collector from near Saskatoon towed it off with intentions of restoring it.
I will take some pics and post them. I will need a chainsaw to get the Beaumont out in the open. I am not sure what is with my sudden renewed interest in old cars the past couple weeks but now I've acquired a 1964 Meteor convertible from one of my mother's 90 year old friends. One of his buddies bought it from the local dealer when it was new and his wife bought it for his son 35 years ago but the son never liked driving it so it was packed away in a garage all these years. His son recently passed away so the old car was taken out. Strangely enough the grand kids said they didn't want it. Still has its original paint ,interior and roof and seems to run pretty good but needs a little work on the brakes and has a crack in one of the exhaust manifolds.. I guess it is a Canadian car as well. Not the prettiest color in my opinion(bright baby blue) but lots of the local seniors have funny stories about riding in it when they were young. The 1st owner must have driven it a fair bit as it has 73000 miles on it but only @ 3000 in the past 30 years according to an old oil change sticker on it. Part of the deal was I had to promise not to sell it away from here and I have to keep it indoors every night. I will post a picture of it as well.

No I never took an pictures of it and apparently a collector from Saskatoon towed it away about 20 years ago and was intending on restoring it. It was the Rose Valley police car, a town about 45 miles from me.

Yes, a 3 speed manual console is possible on the SD car. Unusual, but possible!
I think many of us are anxiously awaiting pictures and the cowl tag information off the cars to see what they document as!
I think I am going to go and look at them old cars tomorrow, they've been parked since about 1985 so probably not much left of them but they do bring up a lot of fond memories.
