Just found this site. I'll start by introducing myself.
Rick Holloway
Waterford, Connecticut, USA
I have owned my 1971 Trans Am for the past 21 years.
This Trans Am was originally sold at Grant Brown Motors Ltd of Weston, ON.
The dealership has long gone. I'm in the process of a complete restoration.

Welcome Rick. I live just above you. My Dad worked for Rexnord in Port Hope, Ontario (home base in Danbury). My Summer neighbour (a U.S. judge) is from Waterbury. I have a couple other Conn. connections. My other Summer neighbour is from Shrewsbury Mass. My car was bought in Maine.

Wow great car to restore and the aftermarket has lots of parts for F-bodys. Looks like you are getting into some time and effort but its worth it,keep at it.

Was able to contact George Zapora from Vintage Vehicle Services of GM Canada. I was able to get a little history of my Trans Am. It was only 1 of 289 New Trans Ams sold in Canada in 1971. It's shipping date was March 1, 1971 and it was sold at Grant Brown Motors Ltd, Weston, ON. I'm trying to track down as much info about this car as I can. I believe I'm the third owner. The first owner was a Dennis Pallister of Weston Ontario, The next owner and the one I got the Trans Am from was a Stan Lamount of Winnipeg, Manitoba. I got the car from Stan January 1989.
If anyone has a picture of the Grant Brown dealership Sign or any other of their advertising I would Greatly Appreciate a copy. I believe they went of business some time around 1990.
Again any help will be Greatly Appreciated.

I just got one for 1971 off eBay. If anyone needs a copy of a Blank one just let me know and I'll scan it and send it as a jpeg.
The document has English on one side and French on the other side

Welcome aboard Richard, i know you will enjoy the ride. Grant Brown Motors, wow. Does that ever bring back memories. In 1967 my late father Anthony, bought a new 1967 Buick Special sedan from Grant Brown Motors on Weston Road in Toronto. I remember that day so vivid because it was such a beautiful day. My dad, mom, one of my sisters and i went there. Took a test drive in a new 1967 Buick Special and then went to the near by Dairy Queen for some ice cream. My dad kept that wonderful car until around 1984. By the way i was almost 10 years old when that happened and i still have all the Grant Brown Motors paperwork etc. That related to my dads purchase of that car. One of my past buddies also served his journeyman stint at this very dealership. Thank you for sparking those wonderful memories. Cheers. George.
