Hey everyone. I am considering swaping my front drum brakes to 11 in disk brakes and using either a B or F body tall spindle to replace my shorter stock spindles on my 1972 Lemans. Has anyone done this conversion on this site to a 68-72 GM A body before? any tips or advice would be great.
My local wrecking yards have quite a fiew vehicles to chose from for the parts, so that wont be a problem, just would like to know what doner cars are the best and I dont want the 12 inch brakes off the wagons because they are 5x5 bolt pattern. Thanks.

Interesting I have big drums on my 66 B-body never thought of 5-5 wheels
I guess you just get a big torch and welder.

Not sure about the fit for a 1972 but I am using 1970 Chevelle disc brake spindles on my '65 Chevelle, rotors & pads from S-10 as they all will fit.

I have B body spindles and 12 inch (1LE police camaro) rotors . Ihad to change the taper on a set of replacement ball joints and the stock upper A arms come very close to headers.my car was 4 wheel manual drum and now has 4wheel manual disc (12/11.25) Iused a corvette master cylinder(early 70s has same mounting) and my stock porportioning valve ,stock front calipers ,83 camaro front calipers on rear (same piston size no E brake)
