Hi I am new so forgive my lack of knowledge. I have an old 38 packard rat rod and want to put the front end of a 67 pontiac paresianne on it. the pontiac is a good donor car as I can use a lot of the other pieces and bits, like steering wheel, etc. What troubles am I facing and can this swap be done? The frame measurement at the firwall of the ratrod is 32" center to center on a 3" frame??

i think I would measure the front tires center to center and compare the two. Then I would take some fraame width measures at the graft point. It may be very wide.thats why the unibody clip is preferred.Neat car we will want pictures

I would wonder if the full size Pontiac frame,
would be too WIDE, for a old skinny Coupe?

An s10 clip would be closer in width...me thinks....

Thanks guys for the help. I am measuring and measuring today and will keep you up to date. My packard manual says the frame is 353/16 at the front, 42 3/16 at the firewall so we shall see. The pontiac tire center to center is 62.5" front and rear. 427 Carl may be right but more measuring and precisness on my part is required.

Make sure you have the tread width right or it will look "silly" with the wheels "hanging" out wider than the fenders!!! Also take measurements "criss cross" from a body point to the orginal top off King Pins before you cut off the front frame section as well as the wheel base of Packard frt. to back axle. Then when you go to "stitch" the new clip on you can go to your reference points on body to get the spindles right back in the same spot. MEASURE MEASURE MEASURE!!! Did I say MEASURE. Did this on a 38 chevy I had yrs. ago,put a Camero clip in it. Bet I checked & re-checked it for 2 days before the welder got "Flashed"
