Hi there we need some help decoding our bin number on our chieftain. We looked at the previous post about it but not very many of the numbers matched with a chieftain. Our vin number is
3226929118
Eng- w250771
Trim- 508
Paint- 359
Body- 5555
Model- 22-69
If any one can help us figure this out it would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you
Holly and Chris

Do the pathfinders have the same hood emblem as the chieftain? When I looked up photos of a pathfinder it looks nothing like what we have.

Is there much of a difference between a chieftain and a pathfinder

Thanks for the information. I have tried posting photos but it will not let me upload them. We purchased a Pontiac shop repair manual for all models 1949-1954 however it says it is based marily on the 54 models. Do you know some of the major differences? We are in the stop down faze doing body work and what not we want to keep it completly origional. We have two straight 6's we have to find a clutch and a master cylinder for it. We also have to find chrome bezles for the front head lights and we need the rear tail light covers for it too. Does anyone know where we can get any of this stuff? All of you help has been greatly appreciated thank you all again!

Do you have an American or Canadian shop manual ... HUGE difference! You need a Canadian Pontiac one! You'd be better off having a '53 Chev. manual than an American Pontiac one.
