It seems to depend on the persons computer..... I had this discussion with B-52 a week or so ago and the way I do it wouldn't work for him! Although I have never used the method above, and we have talked about this issue a few times now, I just highlight copy and then paste the link...It will usually underline when it is live..
With others that are posted and not live, I copy and paste them and place the cursor after the last letter or number and just hit the spacebar... They underline and go blue...
Guess you will have to find out which way your computer will allow....

I tried that before when Vince was trying to help me but it looks like I have to paste the link, then open the chain symbol and then paste the link again in the pop up box that appears. Seems like a lot of work but so far that's the only thing that works on this tablet I have. See how great this site is, not only do you get amazing car help, you also get some added computer skills while your here

Hi Guys,
I've seen a few posts lately where people are having trouble making their links to other websites (i.e. kijiji ads, etc.) live.
Thought I'd post a quick "how to" to help out anybody who hasn't been able to make it work yet. So here it goes:
(1) Copy and paste the url (internet address) of the site you want to link to in the "post" window.
(2) Drag the mouse over this address to highlight it (as shown in the window below).
(3) Click on the little "chain link" symbol (circled in red). A window will pop up
(4) In the "Link URL" box of this window (see image below), paste the URL of the website you want to link to.
(5) Choose target - I usually choose "open link in new window" so that you are not navigated away from this site when you click on the link. I like this because when I am finished viewing the linked page I can just close it and not have to keep hitting "back" to return to this site.
On other sites, Vince's method works for me, but on this site only the method that I presented here works on my computer. I'm running a Mac, so maybe that's the difference?
It is a little tedious compared to just copy and paste, but after you get used to it, it becomes second nature. Besides, this site is worth a little extra work!
Anyhow, for those who have similar issues I hope I've helped a little.

That's how I do it.

Thank you, I will try that next time. For some reason when I posted links using the iPad they were not live.

Hope this helps!
