I just noticed my gas guage is reading below E on the 64cs. It does not move from this position with the key on or off. It was working fine before winter. It has about 1/2 a tank. whats up?

Turn the ignition to on, unplug the tank unit to guage wire, (tan color usually) the guage should go to overfull. then ground the same wire, the guage should read empty. if all this happens your guage and wire to it are good. if the ground to the sending unit is good, replace the sending unit.

Yep '64 Chev. Impala, as long as your gas tank is original.
