I would check if Autoline will do custom rebuilds. Give them a call.
I sell their rebuilts at work and we have excellent success with them.
I assume you want to keep a numbers carb and don't want to just buy one out of a box.

Yes, I have heard the name but I didn't know if they are still around. He used to race at the strip when I was 16!

Not in Winnipeg but had my Q Jet rebuilt by the Carburetor Doctor. Website - carbkitsource.com Took a little while but when received it looked amazing. It is the original carb to the car so wanted it done correctly. It was in real rough shape prior. Haven't installed it yet - lots to do before that happens. I think it was about $400.00. He is in Alberta. Prior to finding this guy I contacted Cliff Ruggles (he is the US) I think is the correct name from the PY Forums. He stated at that time it would be about a year to get done. I think Carb Dr. was about 3-4 months. Just info for anybody who may need this service.

Thanks, I had a 1972 Pontiac 455 Qjet carb rebuilt by Cliff Ruggles in the past when the US currency was good then went bad, it ended up costing me $800 after just about a year wait like you said ...

You can try CITI CARB on Raleigh rd. he has a lot of older gm pieces if your carb will need parts.

Pete and I think alike, I was going to say that place to. I needed some floats for my carbs and he had them. Good guy to deal with.

Just reviving a 4 year old topic on Q Jet carb rebuilders in Winnipeg. I am going to have my 7028210 1968 Q Jet cheered up and found this valuable info from long ago.
Citicarb, Schaeffer and Autoline which were all recommended in the previous threads are still in the business of rebuilding Qjets. Schaeffer claims he is semi retired but still is keeping busy rebuilding Qjets, along with Citicarb and Autoline. For Autoline, you would have to go through a dealer such as PistonRing to have it rebuilt as Autoline does not deal directly with the public.
Good info never gets old!
