Do the 68-82 Corvette Calipers bolt on to the 1967-68 B Body Disc brakes?

I see from the other posts there is lots of good news about using corvette rotors on the B-bodies - but what about the calipers?
The 4 piston calipers on the 68 427 Parisienne are leaking (of course) and instead of dropping uber bucks on the Stainless Steel Brake Corp rebuild - I wondered if the Corvette calipers (readily available for $150) would bolt on?

i think they are the same caliper, cross check part numbers to be sure

They're different.
Although appearing similar, the B body 67-68 4 pistion Delco Moraine calipers have bigger bores than the C3 corvettes pistons. The bodies are a different shape, and I believe the hose may come off differently on each.
But, the C3 just might bolt onto your carrier if the B Body calipers measure;
Mounting bolt to bolt spacing, 7"
Rotor centerline to caliper inner face, 1.7"
Pad length, 6.21"
A C3 caliper for $150 really seems quite low, and might just be another leaker. And be aware, such a price usually requires a core exchange, or an extra $100 or so.
Imop the best bet is to rebuild the B bodies and SS resleeve locally. There is usually a few places in every larger town that can do it.

Thanks for the advice - local parts guys are really good and if these are leakers they will replace them until we get a decent one.
They will loan me a unit next weekend and I'll test fit and report back.

Part numbers are 4-sure different because bore size.
I wondered if they were externally different. If they fit I'll try em.

hes right about the price i paid around 150 or less a side with no core and they are sleaved. the corvett hose looks like its only a little longer than the ponti part and it dosent require the goofy camaro steel line and bracket

Well you may have heard that's what I used on all 4 corners of my 'Chief.They are a direct bolt on.The disc brake spindles are of the same part # as Corvette/B body from '65-'82-well '69 -'82.The caliper mounting brackets should also be identical for both applications.The '68 calipers aren't the J56 ones as they are different in appearence but have the same mounting tab configuration.Keep us informed.........

Thanks for the comment - I have been set back on my schedule because of work but will get those calipers soon and try them - reporting back of course.

I was fortunate to find a 68 Chev Station Wagon with the 4 piston calipers and from that point I did a complete frame off for my 67 Impala using the 68 frame.
Many years ago I had the corvette calipers done with the stainless steel inserts. About 8 or 9 years later I took them off when the car was tied up in the body shop and had them inspected. All was well, just replaced one set of seals.
If I were to go through my invoices I could probably get a date that they were done. The jobber that did it is no longer in business.
It must be 25 years ago that they were done.
Might cost cost more but the overall service has been excellent. I had a friend with a 67 Corvette and he was always changing calipers.

In the next couple of weeks, I'll be starting a complete front end revamp. Global West control arms, strut rods, re-ratio steering box, etc.
At the same time I'll be doing a C3 conversion using Wilwood D8-4 calipers. It's all ready to go, the only question could be the steering arm compatibility with my 67 Tie rod length. I have converted 69 drum arms on the mock-up right now, but I could just go with my 67 arm if need be.
The Wilwood Superlight calipers were about $200 more for the pair than the stock C3's, but that included pads and braided lines. They weigh about half of stock ones, have SS pistons and what is said to be a superior seal design. Overall a very good alternative to the stock units. They really are quite nice.
The one thing I might add is to remember that the C3 caliper design is non floating, meaning if you have excessive disc or hub runout, you'll get a big pedal pulse, A real shortcoming on the street. The next thing I'd consider, would be to go with Wilwood floating rotors and hubs. They do make them to work with this C3/Impala spindle.
I'll document the changeout when it begins.

any car that sits for a long time will rot out its brakes, i was doing a yearly rebuilt on my outo cross car and got tired of it, i switched to silicone fluid problem solved, its not hydroscopic thus no water it the system.
