took the old 54 laurentian out to a little car show in carseland this weekend, about 40 cars or so and ended up winning best car in the 50-59 division.I don't really consider it a show car as the 20 year old paint is showing its age and its still a work in progress to me.But it was a pleasant surprise to have my name called and have folks appreciate the car.

Congrats on the win! Now that you've had a taste, fight the temptation to do a frame off!
Congrats on the ribbon, nice. Does that air device actually work?

Thanks for the comments everyone.Yes the old thermadore car cooler actually works fairly well. You can fill it with ice water and the air cools as it goes across and into the car.You have to refill it every few hours but that's what they did back then.Drive a few hours stop for fuel and food,it was much more relaxed I believe than the get in and drive like hell attitude people seem to have now.I regularly get passed like i'm standing still driving the old girl down the road at 100kmh,but i'm not in a hurry and that's part of the enjoyment of driving the car.I am still doing little thing to the car, replaced both rear door trims now with better ones I found and polished out.I may regrettably be putting her up foe sale soon, but not in a hurry to sell.I have an opportunity to start another project and I can't keep them all.I did have a lady ask about buying it this weekend but after she told me her plans to paint it red and black out the interior I kinda lost her number on purpose.Hopefully someone will appreciate the car for what it is and wants to preserve it as it is.It is very low production at #13 off the line and body serial #2 for the laurentians so a car worth preserving in my opinion. It will be offered up here on the site before I put it up for the general public.Like I said.not on a hurry to get her gone, still have a few months to decide, and no i'm not going to ask a million dollars for it.I figure its worth around the 8 thousand range with all the spare body panels included.Until then I have some more shows and drives to go on this summer.
