My 66 project car needs rear body mount bushing(s) for Safety in On The mounts are sitting on 2 rusty panels Carl 1 refered me to the correct panels
My car had a previous repair over top of the panels for the bushings..
Friday night I drilled and loosened the mounts underneath
Saturday night I removed the patch panels (for proper repair) and they gave me access to the bushings
Sunday morning (Uncle Bernie) John came in and finished loosening the body mount panels, and cut the top of the bolts and sleeve they are in, and then used air chsel to push bolts out...
I ordered Genuine Suspension bushings this morning Have to buy a complete set to get 2
Not bad for a big dollar appraised car Good news the car floors and rest of trunk are mint I nice repair over the mount and the mount panels welded it It will be as good as new
Thanks I had seen the photos before and was told they are a common replacement amazing how pliable the rubbers are after 48 years be glad to get it done and mount new gas tank and starting touring with it

...Boy do those photo's ever look familiar! (similar) to torture I went thru this past winter. Same rot area...same cover up patch panels from a previous attempted repair.
Great idea to document the process... it's look'n great! Look forward to seeing the finished result.

We were going to repair the floor, with flat sheet metal because the floor was flat in the rusty area...
I got a little anal, and ordered 2 stamped floor panels, so we could cut out the sections I need and have the correct shape
88.00 per panel to use 12x24 inches and I will donate the rest of the panels to some nice guy
It's amazing how a body seemingly in such nice shape could have a spot so badly rotted. But we all know that area is a complete moisture trap.
And good on you for doing the repair right. The poly mount will complement that new big rear bar nicely! Don't worry, It'll be on its way eventually.

Thanks I am excited to get it repaired (all it needs for safety now) I was going to convert it to disc brakes as it need front shoes and 1 brake cylinder, but will wait and save money for disc after I pay for rear sway bar (no rush on it)

Hey Carl I have to do the same to mine over the winter. Those are great pictures! I have the braces and I was going to order the trunk floor panels but the frieght was going to kill me so I'll have to make something up. Where did you get the body mount rubbers. i still need those.

had to buy a kit to get 2 mounts rest are going out West

So John (Uncle Bernie) is like the energizer bunny... He cut out the piece, we needed for the right side, and sat it in the trunk
The left side panel has arrived in Port Huron Mi Andrew will pick it up Sat
then more cutting
If anyone needs the rest of the repair panel let me know They will be free plus Canada Post

Just 1 black strip The 12 bolt is there but the 3:31's and posi are lost,broken,or wore out Feels like 2:73's same as my Strato Chief's were....
No biggie my days of 2 black strips are long gone Just want some nice rides to the lake and ice cream

John was in and "nibbled" the rusty part out and trimmed the repair piece Just waiting for left panel to arrive Monday from Port Huron Mi
Next week (or so) we can get it closed in...
Wife picked up the left side panel Its a whole side too bad I just need one little sliver Hope I can pass on the rest to help someone out
