I'm just learning about the Acadians differences from Novas. Does this upholstery look like original 62 Acadian? It's in a convertible and looks to be in very good shape,.

A glovebox sales brochure would show patterns and colors. The seat belts don't look right at all, they look 1980s

You're absolutely right about the seatbelts. The owner added them because the car wasn't originally equipped.

Was equipped with back seat. That's probably how the kids got there. Looks orig to me even the pattern but it is 53 yrs old, if not someone did a damn fine job of recovering. How many miles on it? Could look at pedal and armrest wear for a clue.

Thanks for the brochure Carl. Looks like it is kind of similar but does not match the Beaumont material(or Invader) Here is the only pic I have of the drivers area, you can just see the brake pedal. Here is one of the back seat as well, could this be Nova repop interior? What do you think about the door panels?
Boy, I just don't know 62's at all, sorry. It certainly looks era-correct but I'm just not sure. There's a couple of 62's on this site, hopefully someone will chime in that knows better.

I know this is old but I can offer my insight. The 63 door panels should be a solid color. All convertibles had vinyl seat covers. I don't believe the seat covers are Nova due to the center vinyl insert. I believe the Nova covers in cloth were all cloth pattern.
My opinion is someone did a custom job to look like original.

Correct me if I've missed something here but the original question concerned a 62 and the brochure photo is a 63. So pattern would be different.
Also some vinyl is made to appear to be cloth.
Being a convertible only vinyl provides waterproofing.

Lefty that insert says "all vinyl interiors". Then below the picture it refers to coated fabric, that is one I have never heard before.

Colour aside, my 1962 Acadian Beaumont convertible vinyl uhpolstery looks like forespeed's 1962 Acadian wagon uhpolstery.
In your picture of the rear seat, your rm rest side panel by the window crank matches the design pattern of the arm rest side panel design pattern in my convertible.
Also the door panels in your picture of your front seat match the door panel design in forespeed's pictures and my convertible.
If you look at the door panel in forespeed's March 2014 car of the month, you can see the same panel design pattern in one of his pictures.

I see the original door panel has "Mylar" tape in the middle. At least that is what I have always known it to be called and I think my spelling is correct. Your replacements have a 3rd stainless door panel retainer in place of the tape. I think I still have several of those retainers as they came in several different lengths.
