Hi guys Im usually a ford guy but have always loved the big old cruiser style pontiacs. I finally took the plunge and snagged a virtually rust free numbers matching 64 4 door. Interior is excellent except for dashboard cracked and rear valance damaged by a water leak, the visors are rough to. Its got the 283 with 2 speed power glide and runs smooth. Original owner just put new gas tank, new brakes and new exhaust but got to old to drive so i think i got an okay deal of 3000.00. Any insight you gurus could share as well as any advice on getting replacement parts for above mentioned items would be greatly appreciated. My plans are to drive it as is with a fresh oil change and some new gas for now. I'm going to keep as original as i can.
Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks.

Looks like an excellent purchase. I love the color of your car and guaranteed you will have as much fun with your car as any 2 door. Enjoy it.

Do yourself a favor and change the rubber parts. Belts, vacuum hoses, heater hoses, radiator hoses & rubber parts in the fuel line including way back at the fuel tank sending unit. I'm sure it will save you from future grief.

Looks like a nice original car, glad to hear you will be keeping it original, well equipped PS, PB 283, 4dr HT. Lots of cleaning and detailing, without spending any money, and it should look like a million bucks!

Welcome from Barrie Ontario. There are a lot of 64 owners on this site who are always willing to help out. Beautiful original car.

Welcome to the site cantafforda2door, nice ride, and funny (but true) handle!
Moredoor HT's are finally starting to get the respect they deserve, and your's surely will.
There is nothing like a summer cruise in a 4 door HT with all the windows down!

Thanks to all of you that have responded to my first post. I appreciate the support. I would definitely be interested in the blue dash if you find it rabbit64cs and I do have the proper nuts and washers they came with the rims so

Thanks for the heads up 427carl. I'm extreme lucky seventy2plus2 in regards to rubber replacement as the original owner constantly did proper maintenance and all those parts you mentioned are already like new. All the front end is perfect I actually can't believe how clean it is for a 51 year old ride.

Thanks pontiacanada yes I purchased from Kevin. He said he bought it to use the ps/pb for his but it was to clean to steal from. He seemed knowledgeable and friendly. I would live to get my hands on a nice dashboard and rear valance. I've been keeping my eye out for sun visors as well. Was there a big difference between 64 and 65?

The buyers package shows the original owner from new then the guy I bought from for roughly half a year and then me.

There is a lot of stuff that interchanges from '61 - '64. '65 was the first perimeter frame car, before that it was X-frame, so things got different after '64. 65 dashes and rear valances (package trays) are different, I don't know about the visors.

Really enjoying the board, good group here.
Welcome from Cowgary Alberta.......you've dealt a great original condition Pontiac.....
Don't know how bad your dash pad is (always good to find an original replacement) but you
could always get a dash top (this is not a soft dashpad as what's on your car) it's hard plastic but will cover
your dash pad to make it look better...available for NOS

Nice car... 4 door Hard tops are under valued... you scored a nice ride... Some cool glass packs, and you will be transported back to the 60's
Don't forget to send the dice back to the seller lol
Don't forget to get the correct washers and nuts You want offset oval washers with centre hole (not offset)
