How do I take trim, door handles and key covers off?

anyone know how I can take this off? I would prefer to so I can buff everything and do a cleaner job painting.

Remove the door panel and on the inside of the door, the handle has 2 nuts to remove it. The key lock has a slide in clip that you pry out sideways. The lock linkage should have a clip on the rod that you release and pivot to the side and it should disconnect.

Awesome thanks! I will try this later today. Do you know if the trim is with the sliding clips or if I get behind the door panel to take them off?

Sorry, I meant the handle has 2 bolts, not nuts
Not sure about your trim, but it's probably the slide in type and they may be accessible inside the door.

If the lock cover is original, it will be crimped on all the way around. Replacements are available from GM and they just have 4 tabs that you bend over to hold them on the lock. From the outside they look the same but they don't need to be crimped all the way around like the originals were (and that's good because I don't know how a guy would crimp them like the factory did.)

We have a locksmith here who is in the car scene. He can hand decrimp and recrimp the doorlocks. Quite an appreciated talent by us car guys....
