Has anyone used rear spring spacers on their 65-70 B Bodies?
I have what I feel is the perfect rate in the rear, but unfortunately they have sagged a little since new. I'd like to put in another inch or so of lift, but I'm not going through the hassle of doing another set of springs. And air shocks are out since I'm on Ridetech's.
What I'm asking is, does anyone make spacers for our rear springs? The type that either sit at the top or bottom of the spring, not the kind that sit between the windings. I really can't find anything on line that matches my needs.

I forget what our rear springs look like on top, does the coil narrow down quite a bit?

I installed a spacer block under the spring. Because the spring is forward of the diff the ratio of spacer to height rise is not 1 to 1. My spacer is 3/8" and I know it raised more. You will have to experiment. I believe I made a post on this a while back.

Thanks Carl. It was fairly easy to do. Oh and I found the post. It was actually a reply to a cdnpont post a few years back. According to my measures back then, the spacer was at 1/2" and it raised a whole inch so ratio has to be 2 to 1.

Hey Mark, you know my car and I'm looking at the same thing.
I was talking to a very experienced local aftermarket retailer abut the spacers last year.
If I remember, they were only $25.
Made of aluminum not plastic.
Sizes varied but I was looking at 1.5 inch lift.
They also said they were the same part for A-body as B-body.

I had thought about recreating the lowered look of my 69 Grande
(pic 1984)
Just a bit too low for the real world.
The front springs on my current car may still have to be addressed.
I think they may be big block springs
Ok New springs and spacers are in but nothing is tightened up yet.
I just put her down to see how she sits
originally,
and now,
The spacers came with good instructions and warnings like removing the brake line mount bolt before you lower the axle.
the upper trailing arms also needed to be undone to get the axle low enough for booth the new springs and the spacers,
I painted the aluminum spacers black so they wouldn't stick out.
I don't like the way the spring sits
Used new grade 8 mounting bolts but I need new mounting cups (inside the spring)
When I get some more time, I try different combinations.
I could have saved some money and just went the spacers
I talked the best in the business, Harry's Spring Shop in London, Ontario.
Those boys grew up in that shop !
I may go with them cutting off 2 1/2 inches off the front after all.
