I have a mechanical background, understand the benefits of disc brakes, but why do so many seem to want to go to disc? I have put about 50 miles on my Parisienne, and I am pretty happy with the power drum brakes, and think it's cool original.

I go to work in mine regularly. Admittedly it's only 10 miles but it is stop/start all the way. Never any problem..........

Cruising is fine, but If you enjoy any kind of spirited driving, drums will never cut it. The get scary pretty quick when hot. I've had two experiences where I only got stopped by the skin of my teeth on drums. Also imop, unless in good condition and well set up, panic stopping can be sketchy with drums.
Discs are probably the number one safety modification made in our hobby, precisely for that...safety. The brake mods I made to my car, make it feel like a modern car in braking. In fact, even better. Anyone who drives it comments on how well it stops.

Nice! Like the dual bleeder option.. no need for left/right caliper. I have to remember on my setup(2000 Malbu) rotors were on the front and I installed on the rear. So when I need a right side I have to order a left.
No comparison drums to disc!!! If you don't leave town drums will do [ barely] get driving on the highway [ 401 in Ont.] & youe pushing your luck!!! My 51 Poncho has discs, as well as 69 Cutlass rag top, wouldn't have any other way!!!!

I Have drums in the impala and don't drive it enough to worry about it and too I run the original skinny rims with bias ply tires. We put the conversion kit on the wagon as we hope to be able to tow the camper in the future with it. The disc brakes for sure are a better fit with the rest of traffic these days.
