Did you know the trim on a 67 custom is the same shape, just cut to fit.
Even '67 Custom trim is pretty scarce, though I know of several that lost their side chrome decades ago. I take it the Custom side trim from a '66 is not a match? (I'm just talking about the profile of the piece).
Does anyone one know if there are any other crossover trim pieces that would be the same profile? I'm thinking maybe a mid to late '60's Impala? Didn't they have a thin piece of aluminum trim down the side that was similar? I need to make a template for my trim and take it with me to some car shows this summer...
It'd be great to find something that's being reproduced already. Cutting a longer piece and making it work would be pretty easy. As I recall, the trim pieces on mine are not molded at the ends, they're cut and folded so they look like a finished piece. I'll take a close up picture when I'm out in the shop.

still looking for any of the skinny SD side trim pieces. Even if you have just one piece name your price. Car is getting close and I need it. Thanx
67 beaumont custom with the correct side mouldings are a double row. The lower row is the same as a 66 SD. I think that has been mentioned here before.
Kevin I sent you a PM of a 67 custom I sold to a fellow as a parts car. It had all the side trim and I'm sure he wasn't using any of it.

Stan you are the man! I tracked him down and all the trim is still on the car. He will take pictures tomorrow and size up removal. Thanx once again

Is this the correct profile ? I have it tagged as 67 custom .
Tomorrow I'll try to get a photo of the side trim on mine so we can compare.
If I can, I'll also check the part numbers.
Are those off a 67 Custom?

From the parts manual, it looks like the one on the door has the same part number (5728570 for right: 5728571 for left) for '66 SD, and the '67 Custom. That tells me the profile should be the same.
Surprisingly though, the part numbers for the two pieces on the rear fenders (in front and behind the wheel opening) have different part numbers for the '67 and '66. I thought the '66 and '67 bodies were essentially the same - changes at the front and rear but I thought the side pieces would be the same).
Also surprising - the piece on the front fender of the '66 SD isn't even listed in the parts book. The figure shows it, but there is no item number or listing.

Door pieces are the same. All other pieces have a flat area that tucks under the wheel well trim for the 66 model year
still looking for any of the skinny SD side trim pieces. Even if you have just one piece name your price. Car is getting close and I need it. Thanx
Tin Man Dave said in the past they have done that. I will use that option if I have to but holding out for the real deal. Thanx for the reply
