Might be a dumb question, but would a 1968 convertible frame work?

I've heard 1967-68 frames are the same except a minor difference in the back brace. I've also heard that 1966 frames are pretty similar to 1967 frames but I don't know how true that is or how practical it might be to use the 1968 frame. I have a friend with a 1968 convertible frame that's in good shape. He is here on the West Coast in the Vancouver area. I'm not sure if it does you any good. Just let me know if I can help.

The theory is that 65/66 are the same, 67/68 are the same, and 69/70 are the same. 65/66 has a different idler arm design that 67-70. I put a 69 hdtp frame under my 70 hdtp with absolutely no problem. While the general frame is the same 65-70, the idler arm design of 65/66 is different, but I'm also fearing the front frame horns may differ from 65/66, to 67/68 to 69/70, making bumper attachment difficult.
