Hi everyone, is there a top and bottom side to the front springs? Mine dont have any white or yellow marks like I read in a post. They look symmetrical on both ends. I also read a post that said they can only fit in one way. It's on a 68 Parisienne. Thanks

I'd have to check. If I recall the bottom was smaller than the top, but I'll have to check a couple of my old springs sitting in a box.
Do you have new springs you're going to install, or reinstall the originals?

Just a quick question for bradkerbick, what prompted you to change the front springs? Obviously there is a reason but I was wondering if one side was sagging, or both were sagging, or broken, or wanted to raise height, etc, etc. Just wondering what was the issue that prompted you to replace?

Yes front end was sagging, shocks were shot, all bushing dry, cracked and rotten. It was all apart, may as well go back together new

My bushings need to be replaced as they are dried out. Are you using the same original control arms and where did you get your new bushings from? Just stock bushings or did you get something better than stock?

I am using my original control arms and stock "rubber" bushings. I had the bushings replaced in the control arms at a shop in town.

Do you have the old springs? Are the same at both ends? If so, then it doesn't matter which way is up.

Yes, same as the old springs. Thanks!

If that's the case, then it doesn't matter which way they go. Both the top pocket (in the chassis) and the lower control arm have notches in them as to where the coil ends should be oriented. Just make sure the coil ends are in the notches.
The rear springs are a totally different story.

Exactly... I usually put a dab of paint on the bottom of the coil before removing, just in case... then match up accordingly... Clint, I haven't forgotten, just trying to decide which one I can rob out of... isn't an easy thing to do when they are still complete and rolling... sorry!

Yahoo! All done and she sits so much higher, road test went good, no more rubbing on the inner fenders when turning sharp or going over speed bumps. First thing in the spring I will get an alignment. I will tackle the rear end bushings, springs and shocks as well.
