Nice Laurentian. Hood louvers even. They must look like narrow trackers to you Americans that are used to seeing wide tracking Pontiacs. That was the first thing I noticed about big Pontiacs decades ago when visiting the U.S.
Rochester, NY eh? On cold mornings we used to see a plume of steam across Lake Ontario from over the horizon, that steam was from the tall stack that used to be at Kodak until a couple of years ago.

I purchased this just a few days ago from a guy who bought it from a widow. :(
The previous owner loved the car and built a sick motor for it. He just started working on the interior when he became ill. He switched out the column shifter for a floor shifter but left the bench instead of putting in buckets. I'm assuming he meant to keep the bench seat because he reupholstered the seats. I will be replacing carpet because...why not?
My question is more about the other interior parts...door panels, headliner, rear window tray, and kick panels. Where do I find them, and would this be considered a Catalina or a Bel Air when it comes to these parts?
<it's really hard to find solid info>
Thanks so much!

Welcome to the site Mike, from just north of Oshawa Ontario where your beautiful Poncho was built. You can get the history on your car from GM heritage Canada for a fee, for dates, where it was sold, production #,s, accessories , etc I'm sure someone here will have exact addr. if your interested in contacting them. As for parts everything under the car is Chevy, some US interior parts " MAY" fit but not a hell of a lot!!!! Is yours a " 3 pedal " car or Automatic?? I used to own a 64 Catalina 2+2 & had problems getting parts up here for it!! Now own a 64 Cdn. Pontiac Safari wagon & 64 Impala S/S 409, both are 4 speeds. Don't be afraid to ask any question here, even if you think it maybe a "dumb one, we won't laugh, & will answer to best of our abilities !! Pete

In 1962 the Laurentian interior was patterned after the '62 Catalina, the Strato Chief used Biscayne interior, and the Parisienne used a cheapened version of the Bonneville (no leather, buckets or wood on the dash). All used 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne or at best Bel Air steering wheels. Laurentian exterior chrome was like a Star Chief, except for the fact that the Canadian car was shorter with a 119" wheelbase as opposed to 123". Trunk floor was the deep well design like the Chevrolet, not the wide, flat but not as deep U.S. Pontiac trunk.
With the dropping of the 348, for 1962 it was down to the 261 six, 283 V8 or optional 327 250-horse. That was it. Four-speeds, 300-horse 327s & the 409s would have to wait until 1963. Most were sixes or 283s anyway.

Lol love the info guys...keep it coming!
I will definitely invest a bit to learn some info about my car.
Im wondering if it is just more cost effective to have someone upholster over the already existing, original panels. Has anyone here redone and interior?

Hello all!
I have just purchased my first Canadian Laurentian! Shes a 1962!
I was hoping to get some info on how many were built, current value and last but not least, to talk and learn about these cool cars.
Thank you, Mike
