You purists will say "cool" and the rest of you will go "huh, what's the big deal?"
I pulled these off a wrecked vehicle this morning, they're in premium shape still, came off like they were brand new. I had a couple before but after I clean these up I'll have enough to do both heater hoses on my car. I love little details like this.
Is there any truth in the fact I've heard mention that they really dont work so great after a couple of times?

Cool ! What scrap yard were you browsing and car ?
I guess there won't be a swap meet in May this year again :(

Yup! I save every one I can find. The still work great out here because they generally don't rust up. I mentioned in my Estate thread to the Rock that I replaced many of them for the "purist" reason. I believe I was looking for the larger ones at that time. I have found but haven't installed.

This was a one-vehicle wrecking yard! Local guy I know who had a squarebody in his back yard.
I tried the bottom rad hose clamp but no go. Worked it around to try a save but eventually broke the bolt.
The larger ones for the rad hose seem harder to find.

Haven't heard anything yet but so far I'm betting it's a no-go.

I think alot of the old tower clamps are identifyed with a month/year stamp as well. I'm installing my 396 in my 68 Beaumont, and I'm using some vintage tower clamps too.

Good score. Never used them.
