Been lurking for a few weeks. Have a 4 dr sedan that i`ve owned for about 25 years. It spent all of that time with its belly on the ground at my parents farm as i`m serving military and only now having a chance to work on it. paid $125.00 for a virtually complete car less engine and transmission. Was missing the tail lights and a few pieces of trim. Collected the parts when i found them, and picked up a laurentian hard top for the remainder.
It will be a labour of love, and a re-education in metalwork as the rust is extensive and its been years since i did any sort of bodywork. The laurentian almost became a contender for the body as the floor is relatively rust free, but discovered so much rust in the roof pillars and roof edges That i backed away from that idea. It will be used for patch panels as it rusted very differently from the stratochief.
will post in the 58 forum soon

Welcome aboard. Don't mind lurking around.
Great group here always willing to help with advice and some even source parts with p/u & delivery service.
Your car and storyline will make a great feature car to appear in our calendar.
Todd can fill you in on that.

Having trouble with the pics. Either my crappy wifi or my crappy iPad. Its not just this site. The Laurentian is a 4 door, and if i had all 4 doors i`d actually consider making the stratochief a hardtop. I prefer sedans, just like the look, but the wife likes the hardtop too. The panels are all identical with the differences being in the b pillar, front edge of the back door, and floor I`ll try posting photos from my phone, see if that works.
