That looks to me like an Acadian/Nova 64-67 V8 block that uses a spin on filter directly on to the block.

Yup, looks to me like he's ready to screw on a filter, other than maybe cleaning the paint off the gasket mating surface.

The adapter was removed for a spin on oil filter, I need the parts to return to original with the canister

YES A NOVA OR ACADIAN BLOCK WITH RECEESED CASTING FOR SPIN ON FILTER !!
I SEE CARL ASKED FOR BLOCK CASTING NUMBER AS WELL.
THE BLOCK IS NOT MACHINCED FOR THE O RING TO WORK
FITS BETWEEN THE BLOCK AND ADAPTOR
PLUS THEN YOU WILL HAVE TWO VALVES, ONE IN BLOCK AND ONE IN ADAPTOR
NEVER CAME WITH CANISTER

Thats interesting. I dont remember seeing those holes before. I did a quick search and it appears that some engines dont have those holes. Im not sure what to say about those holes.

ORIGINAL TWO HOLES ARE 1/4 INCH.
THOSE LOOK TWO BE 5/16 ??
THEY WILL NOT HURT IF THEY ARE BLIND HOLES.
