This truck is NOT rusty and has never had any rust repairs. People often ask who restored it. It has 281,000 km's on it but doesn't show it.
If you are serious feel free to come and inspect/drive it and if you like it, we'll talk.
Located in Morris, Manitoba. Fresh Manitoba safety as of November 30 2022.
I don't have a data plan on my phone but if you would like more pictures please message me with an email address and I can email pictures to you.
Pulled the trigger on a Canyon? Our son is very happy with his 2022. Good luck with the sale. I think its safe to say that any vehicle thats passed on from your hands has been well cared for and honestly represented.

If you decide to part it out Carl, I can send a list of what I need.
First person who comes see it will buy it.

A truck of that vintage in such nice shape would be a constant target for theft down here in the GTA.
So much so, it would make you paranoid just owning it.

I had a guy on Facebook Marketplace post in my ad there that you can buy a decent diesel for that price.
Guess I might have to pull my ads or edit them to say "I'm not looking for an opinion on value, I'm looking for a buyer."
I don't care if he thinks that, I think that about lots of ads I see but at worst I'll say something like "that one will take the right buyer".

Thats a beautiful truck. If it was closer I would probably be interested. I always liked that series of trucks. When we got new 1988s at work I always liked the way they drove. I owned several but the southern Ontario winters were hard on them. The 89 diesel 1/2 ton I liked the most because of the fuel economy, 10 litres to 100 km all the time.

I have not sold this truck yet and a replacement for it has arrived. Now we need to sell this truck. Obviously my asking price is too high, so I've dropped the asking price and will certainly consider offers. We don't have room to keep it and it would suck for it to be sitting outside, it's used to a nice place in a climate controlled garage!

Yup, and that is why we wanted to squeak in under the wire with a 2022. My nephew is our salesman, working for the 7th largest dealer in Canada and has been their highest volume salesman for I think 6 years now. He would have liked for us to buy a 2023 and I just laughed at him. I told him I'd worked way too many years at dealerships and seen how often the "new and improved" WASN'T!!!!!!!!
I'm sure you'll love it but it won't shock me if you're glad you don't own it when it gets some miles on it.

Sold this morning to the first guy who actually took the time to come and look. I had said since I listed this truck that the first guy to give it a good inspection will buy it. Funny thing is, it's heading back about an hour southwest of here to a home about 5 minutes from where we bought it in 2014!
The funny thing I just remembered, I never posted this here. When I first listed the truck other than here, it was on Marketplace. I had left commenting open and this is what transpired. I had to pull the ad, redo it and turned off commenting to stop the expert internet appraisers from crapping all over my truck and ruining my ad.
The first line is chopped off. That is the line where Harold Pohl said I'll give you $4000.
Kijiji is certainly a minefield full of morons. Having been on the buying end more than the selling end, I fully understand the caution most guys show on the initial contact as you do have to filter out the jerks and there are a lot of them. Its hard to make that first contact but if you I do manage to actually talk to them it's quite interesting to watch the defenses lower down when they figure you aren't a nut job. (Of course that goes both ways.)
I have been trying to sell my 95 Chevy SWB 4X4 fleetside on and off for a couple of years now and I have only had one guy who wasn't some kind of a nut. Almost had him, too, until the wife intervened.
Sound like you did well in the end Carl, but it sure is hard to stay polite. That why I would also advocate the "That's Nice' phrasing. If you've ever watched Mrs Brown's Boys you'll know what's that's code for.
Any, good work!

Yes, I was tempted to discuss the "You're loss" but thought the better of it!
As far as Facebook goes, I think all the internet can be that way. Kijiji sure can be "interesting" but at least the keyboard appraisers can't comment on the listing there!

Perhaps, but at least a moderated board gets rid of the worst of it.

I didn't even bother reporting it to Facebook. Just pulled the ads on the various groups where I had it listed, reposted it and turned off commenting. I really wanted to rub it in their faces now when I sold the truck and debated updating the ad to let them know but then I figured that's just dropping down to their level so left it alone. They can just continue on in their miserable existence thinking they were right!

Best way with the internet is to just let it go. You'll never change their minds or fix what's broken in their mindset. Often just walking away is best because people can be competitive (for unknown reasons at times) and always seem to have more time to devote to it than you do. IMHO facebook and things like twitter, reddit and the other sea of social media garbage (my opinion) is the embodiment of mindless negativity, and frankly a waste of time (also just my opinion).
Congrats on the sale of your truck, BTW. At least facebook helped you put it in the hands of a good next caretaker, so there's that.

I actually sold it on Varage Sale in Winkler, not quite an hour southwest of here. That is the little local swap and shop site we bought the truck from 8 years ago. It basically went back home!
I've never had an issue with "experts" on Varage, it's been a great place to buy and sell stuff locally.
I don't have a data plan on my phone but if you would like more pictures please message me with an email address and I can email pictures to you.
