Looking for the correct radiator cap, or suitable replacement, for my 59 Parisienne. I think it's the original radiator, pics attached, made of copper of brass. I believe it's supposed to be an RC-15 cap but they want a pretty penny for one of those. What else will work? I was going to tey a Stant 13psi cap or an RC-6 instead.
If I recall, the original cap would have been 13 psi. If youre not concerned about the appearance any auto supply should be able to get it.

My old 57 Chevy was a 7 lb cap, it was an RC7 cap by AC Delco. Not sure what pressure rating was correct for 1959.

I was reading elsewhere that the copper/brass tanks require a specific cap rc-15 which is expensive so I figured there must be a cheaper option that's compatible? I'm not too worried about the pressure as it's a more modern sbc. I'll probably try a 13psi stant and see if that does the trick.

EDIT: I just saw your RC15 comment.
There is alot of old stock stuff on eBay ect.
An RC15 is a 15lb cap;
there are many Delco caps that look similar.

In 1989 I walked in and bought an RC-15 cap off the shelf for cheap at Bob Johnston Chev-Olds (r.i.p.). It looks & functions like OEM because it was, but the ears were slightly smaller, though you wouldn't know it unless you trained you eyes for it. At least a modern one today would be AC Delco and a functional equivalent to OEM.
Stant is an obvious deviation from stock in appearance, but may also include a release lever.
I'm glad I kept the rusty original 1967 big ear cap. I should try one of those electrolytic baths to restore it. For show only, though it worked fine when I decommissioned it in 1992. GM Mark of Excellence.

If it helps at all, 3852236 is the GM original number for the 59 Canadian Pontiac cap and it's listed at 13 pounds.

Rockauto list 2, you may find one at a Canadian tire or Napa? I checked a 1959 BelAir 283, check the price.
Not sure where this all ended but take the part number 4SPEED427 gave you and contact your local GM dealer, they can order it in. That's what I did in Sept. Cost was $30 + tax. no messing around with US dollars, shipping etc.

I'm glad you mentioned this. There's a newer number I should have posted. 19114580 is the newest number. It doesn't look identical to the original but will fit and work fine.
