The fellow on the left leaning on the hood of the 32 Ford is a friend of mine. Great guy. He still owns the car!

There is something magic about those years of R and C. The magazine seemed to be written for the do it yourself guys and also always had a sense of the lo cost fun that was the hobby back them. The writers lived what they wrote about so it gave it a sense of credibility. I still have a bunch of well thumbed ones from that era and whenever I look at them I remember what got me sucked into the car thing.
