On the my 65 canso, would the fuel tank have been painted or just silver? What about the straps?

I think just bare but someone may prove me wrong.
In the past I've cleaned the tank real well, washed it with alcohol and then put a coat of clear on it.

That seems to be what Im finding. What about the straps, black or clear finish as well?

From what I recall they are bare as well. And I cleared them also. Seems to me the old tanks and straps I've removed have always been bare.
Above the tank I use strips of roofing tar paper to replace the original tar type stuff that the tanks have on top.

On the road, can anyone see it?
It's a legitimate question. From the back a nicely finished tank that is visible below the rear bumper can really add to the look. If not seen, then whatever.
A silver grey colour, black straps, detailed diff and cover, good shocks with matching bolts with a nicely finished aluminized exhaust works for me.
Todays query
